I have a blazer addiction so I try to be extra picky. I LOVE the fit and feel of this white jacket that I picked up in Boston; Angie and others gave the thumbs up. Ultimately, I decided to return because it felt so suit-y and I wasn't sure I'd wear it because I'm trying to steer my style in another direction.

BUT. After seeing cciele looking awesome in her white & black jacket, I went and got my bag of returns out of the car. I always think slim jeans + blazer + neat tee, but that's the look I'm trying to get away from. In this case, maybe scrunched sleeves and messier pieces are needed?

What do you think?

I also have this crazy asymmetrical top that I haven't been brave enough to wear yet. Do I look ridiculous?

(and yes, the shoes. sigh. I can't get them out of my head, so they are out of the car for now, too.)

I'm usually ruthless with my returns, so if I'm second guessing, then I really mean it, LOL.

OMG, you know what I am going to say:

KEEP!

You look awesome in all iterations. I think the asymmetrical top works, because you keep the colors simple so the silhouette can be more avant garde.

The jacket fits you really well. By the way, I am pretty non-suity myself, and was drawn toward this jacket because I wanted a structured, blazer-y kind of topper but not too suit-y. I find this jacket adds a nice bit of polish to my otherwise RATE wardrobe. So yes, scrunch and mess away with the supporting pieces.

cceile -- LOL, I wasn't sure if you'd be like "she's a poser!" because I haven't been RATE up til now. I keep buying individual pieces but need help putting them all together! It all looks so natural and great on you.

pil -- I'm surprised, too! I've had that top for months and while trying stuff on today, I said what the heck. I'll go all out and try it together.

Suz -- yes, ma'am! I'm 99.9999% sure I'm keeping it! I'm so excited about wearing it; I think that's a good sign!

Gorgeous jacket! I don't remember seeing that one in Boston, what store was it in? It looks fantastic on you, and so does the asymmetrical top. I vote keep and wear immediately.

This looks great. I have an aversion to most 'businessy' things and can say that this is not. Trust me. Keep.

I love the asymmetrical top too. It works surprisingly well with the skirt and jacket outfit! Where did you get that, if you don't mind my asking? It's really fun and dramatic yet doesn't overwhelm you.

Love, love, love that jacket!!! If Cathy (cciele) has it, you KNOW it's not corporate! If it were all white, I might say give it up, but the combo of black and white makes all the difference. It's a jacket that really *gets* your body!

Karie -- I found that jacket at Nordstrom Rack.
Janet -- it's a BCBG top; I got it at L&T for maybe $34. I figured it was worth the risk, trying something so out of my comfort zone!
