Casual theater date night & new shoes!

Heading out to see a local production a friend is performing in. Wearing a black maxi dress (the only kind of dress I wear when it's not tights season), an open-weave teal sweater, wide brown belt, my favorite cream twill jacket, and my new Earthies peeptoe shooties. Comfiest heel I've ever worn!

I am not a maxi person at all, but I love this! I particularly like how you can actually see those fab shoes you have on, and I love the open-weave sweater and cream coloured jacket atop the maxi-dress. The maxi dress looks more like a skirt here.

You look *fab* in this, and you're making me re-think the whole idea of maxi skirts/dresses.

Yay, a maxi from Chrizzle! I was hoping you'd post your maxi. Love this--the dress looks like a skirt and how clever to use an open weave sweater over the dress--it makes it look like black polka dots on the sweater. Love the white blazer on top, the belt and pendant. And those sandals! What a great outfit!

Hope the show was terrific. I love local theater and think it's so vital to a strong community and is a reminder that friends, families and neighbors used to entertain on another, before we "outsourced" this job to D-list celebrities!

Thanks so much for the positive responses! Angie, just for you, I'll try a similar look with a shorter skirt and tights, or with pants.

The show ("The Producers") was great - I'm often amazed at the high level of talent in theatrical productions here in Seattle. After the show, we went out to a neighborhood brewpub for a pint. A really fun and relaxing night.

Vicki, unfortunately, the jacket was a Target find from a couple of years ago, and isn't something they carry regularly. I wish I'd picked up another color in addition to the cream, because it's well-made and fits me perfectly.
