Casual dresses for a 50-something

I just got a great pair of Frye boots for fall, and would like to experiment with the dress-tights-boots look. Where can I find casual, age-appropriate dresses? (i'm in my mid-50's.)

I am in my late forties, and I like the Loft, sometimes Target, and Ann Taylor....among some others.

Hi NJD, and welcome to the forum! I'm also in my mid-fifties and love the boots and tights look with dresses. I like to shop for dresses at Macy's, Nordstrom's, Ann Taylor and Talbots. Now that the weather is turning cooler, keep an eye on the forum and you'll see lots of members posting pictures with boots and dresses. Frye boots are a big favorite here.

I love dresses with boots (am chomping at the bit for cool enough weather to break some out here) I find dresses (I'm mid 40's) at Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom Rack (B&M and online) and sometimes Banana Republic (they've been a bit fussy lately NMS, but I have some great Ponte Black older dresses that work great with a jacket or cardigan and boots. TJ Maxx sometimes has a good assortment too. There are a lot of casual knit dresses around most of which can be layered under and/or over to span seasons.
