Next Sat we are invited to a cocktail party. The dress is casual. I was thinking about a dress and sandals. Any ideas?

Casual Cocktail hmmm. I would err on the side of dressy if it is evening event.

Is it outdoors? Casual seems odd for something called a cocktail party...I would go with either a full or a-line skirt and nice top (denim or silk) or a dress, as you suggested. I would do either a small wedge or a flat strappy sandal.

Debbie, I recently attended an event where the dress code was listed as "cocktail casual." I wore my black and white polka dot dress, red wedge sandals, pearls and a small mat pewter bag (clutch-sized, but not remotely shiny and less obvious than a true evening bag). Everyone at my party seemed to interpret the dress code in a similar way.

Definitely opt for a dress and dressier sandals. That is flop proof! I seem to remember that you have several lovely dresses. Can you give us some options?
