Casual Black "Winter" Flats - Cute/Buy(Y)? Gear/Pass(N)?

I am looking for some casual shoes to wear during colder months (Dec/Jan) . Summer is my "dominant" season so most of my casual shoes are sandals, peep-toe or flats that don't look good with socks. I am probably "overstocked" for boots (considering you can't wear them too long here). I have "fussy" feet, and Ecco always works for me. But are these cute or too "gear"? Would they look good with jeans? Vote Yay if they are OK to buy or Nay if they are gear (or you just don't like them).

I do have a pair of flat black booties (Nine West Tamzie) and one pair of charcoal suede flat booties (Indigo Carly Allison). Hmmm, well just typing this out I'm wondering when I would wear these shoes when I couldn't wear a pair of booties instead.

I think you answered your own question. Is there a time you would want to wear these instead of your booties?
I think probably not. These look rather plain and utilitarian, and I think you'll feel more fab in the boots you already have.

Yes, it's easy to see now, they are just awful aren't they?? Sometimes I get some *crazy* ideas while shopping online. I have a weakness for Eccos because they seem to fit my feet perfectly.

Not crazy about the ECCOs, but the Carly Allison's are so cute and look super comfy, love the lower heel..I want a pair.

I say pass on the Ecco's, but I love the Clarks! I actually ordered them a couple of weeks ago in the black leather (still waiting on them to arrive). I'd be interested to know how you usually wear them--under bootcut jeans, with tights, etc. ?

If you are looking for a non-bootie shoe, how about oxfords?

Kappy you are way too fabulous for those shoes. I love your Indigo's. Wear them instead if your feet are okay with it.

There are days when I would wear ANY comfortable shoe because my feet hurt so bad so if this is the case, feel free to veto my vote!

The Clarks are comfortable, aren't they? I like them much better! (I like both Ecco's and Clark's, as brands that are well made and comfortable.....)

Well, it's unaminous (and I would vote against them too if I could!). I guess I just feel like I "should" have a pair of winter flats.

Claire - I didn't know you were a card-carrying member of the fussy feet club! I have finally rid my closet of pretty much any shoe that is uncomfortable to wear (kept a few "event" shoes). You should try the Ecco Skimmers; sometimes you can find them on eBay for 1/2 price. I also wear Orthaheel "Tide" flip-flops all the time at home; it's helped me a lot (I have flat feet).

Isis - These booties are the first Clarks I've had. I'll look more into their other shoes too.
