Joyce, I have been admiring this style of jeans without knowing they are called carrot leg. They look like the type of jeans I wore in the 80’s.

Yes, SF, same here I also used to wear them then. They were flattering and most comfortable.

I like this style a lot, though prefer a less flamboyant version (maybe a little straighter and less puffy).
I know that this style looks good on me (good for a larger seat!) so am looking into it for spring.

They look cute! It reads like a more feminine, high-waisted version of boyfriend jeans with the same high levels of comfort and style. I've never heard the term "carrot leg jeans" before, so before I clicked on the link, I thought we'd see some crazy orange shades!

I like them and agree they are a cute look. A couple of the looks from the Instyle article that stood out to me were the ones with the striped top and the green jacket. I also surprisingly liked the last look with the yellow top (although it would not look fab on me).

I hear you on the pleated front, CarolS! If I want to suddenly look 20 pounds heavier, these are the way to go. I'm looking forward to seeing them on others, though.

These remind me of lantern shape pants. From your title I was expecting orange pants. I like them. I like them but doubt I could wear them. They remind me of the pants I wore in the late ‘60’s/ early 70’s. My favorites were baby blue wool with a matching fuzzy sweater.

I wore these in the 80s and liked them. I was just admiring some styles like this on the Nordstrom site today. Not sure I would do them again, and i would want to try them on. I guess it may be a few months before that happens!

I really like the full length versions! Enjoy the cropped ones much less...but I feel that way about most pants!

I’m liking the similarly constructed Levi’s balloon leg jeans. No pleats, but a nice variation. Haven’t pulled trigger yet (honestly I work for a small non profit that survived the recession - which hit Michigan particularly hard - but I’m worried, So maybe not buying any thing for awhile.) Honestly I got a stunning Polo Ralph Lauren blouse days before effective shutdown, and a Sanctuary duster length coat (worn one time) and I can’t see adding anything. I was already on no ( or seriously cut back) buying. This makes it easy. Sadly.

Nooooo! I did these in the '80/'90's and I rarely wear a trend I've worn. Plus, they don't work at all on my short waisted self! Angie's look super cute though...not as extreme as the article.

I do have one pair of light denim distressed "mom" straight leg jeans. I bought them a size big so they hang a little lower on my waist.

I really like these! I like the waist definition and then the ease through the hips and thighs. Pleats are tricky for me, so I may need to skip this trend, or find a variation that works for me.

There must be similar pants without the pleats but still roomy. I think they will also fit the behind and thighs very nicely.
@Angie, your pants are fab on you, however it could also be the other way around: you make your pants look fab
