I know we have a lot of lawyers on the forum, so I thought I'd ask this question here.

I already have a Bachelor's Degree but am having a hard time finding a career path. I am employed, but I feel like it is more of a "job" than a long term career. I am considering going back to school, for some sort of career path -- but I don't think a Masters degree is the right decision at this time.

I am thinking about getting a Paralegal Certificate. I am a "desk job" sort of person, the job sounds interesting to me, and it seems like a job that will always be around. When I've discussed a paralegal career with friends and family, they don't think too highly of the idea, and sort of frown at the idea of getting a certificate rather than another degree...

To the lawyers on the forum, and anyone else who has thoughts on getting a certificate - what do you think? Is this a bad idea/good idea? How is the paralegal field right now and are there growth opportunities? Do your paralegals like their jobs and what are their career backgrounds? I remember Una has mentioned her paralegal in the past...

Thanks!
