I haven't the foggiest idea how to wear them. Whenever I do, I feel like my grandmother! And yet when I see other women wearing them, they look great... not sure what I am doing wrong!

What are you wearing under the cardis? To counteract the soft and possibly dowdy look of sweaters, I often pair them with a crisp blouse.

Hmm. I'll have to try that Amy. I'm having the same problems with my cardis right now. No vision for them at all.

Would love to see some examples, that might help us pinpoint what might be an easy fix. So much depends on body shape and the drape of the cardigan, don''t you think. I like wearing a more form fitting top under, a cami or tank so as not to look too bulky!

I am with Carole. If you could post a few pics it would help. Could just be the way the cardi is styled and nothing more. Could be the cardi itself is a bit dated. Could be your overall body shape makes them more challenging. I also have found cardis challenging and have been moving more away from them in favor of jackets.

I think Amy's suggestion of blouses/wovens underneath is spot-on. In the WIW posts I've seen from you, you seem to favor knits, top and bottom. Knit top + knit cardigan can often be too much knit, especially with knit bottoms. Super comfy, though!

Amy might be onto something... OK - I will try my cardi with some different items tomorrow and post pics.

You don't say what type of cardigan you're referring to. The "typical" cardigan, round neckline and hits just above hip can look dowdy. It helps if the cardigan is nipped in at the waist, rather than a straight boxy shape. Also, how you button it can make a difference. Try only buttoning the button just below your breasts and the next one down. You'll want to have a couple open both at the top and the bottom. I attached a pic of one of mine to show the buttoning. This one is nipped in at the waist, also.

I find it easier to style a v-neck cardigan than a traditional round neck cardigan. All of my cardis are v-necks and I find the drape better over whatever style of top you are wearing.

I wear cardigans 3 times a week at least. I try to jazz them up with fun jewelry or maybe a funky patterned sweater or cami, to make them more modern
