Can't return Target.com buys in-store? Anyone tried this jacket?

I was thinking of trying this jacket in an attempt to quell my Burberry fixation, but it looks like there are no free mail returns, and you cannot return an online item in-store! I did not know this. Listing says "not available in store."

Reviews warn to order one size up, but sometimes I'm an XS and sometimes a S. Has anyone tried this jacket on?

Beautiful jacket! I think I would get both sizes if you can.....it stinks that they dont allow in-store returns, but it shouldnt cost much difference to mail 2 together and that way you can see which you like better...I have a feeling it wont last long online

Just because you can't buy something in a b'n'm store doesn't mean you can't return stuff there. I just returned a HUGE bag of Petite Target clothing -- only sold online -- to a store without a problem. Same deal with many other stores that only sell Petites online. Exhale and relax -- and buy both sizes.

Oh, now THIS has my attention! I love that mulberry shade (Burberry, Mulberry, you know!).

Are you *sure* you can't return anything to a Target store? I've returned website only shoes to my Target. I think they just resell them in the clearance section.

Thirdly, methinks you should order the extra small unless you are planning to layer a fisherman's sweater underneath. Their jackets are usually cut larger for some light layering.

It says right on the page when you click on the shipping and returns tab that it can be returned to any Target store. So you should be fine!

Eeep, I didn't catch the part about the reviewers saying to size up. Well, you could get three sizes and return the ones that don't fit.

I just saw it in my target this weekend. It looks really nice. I have last year's version without the knit insets. I love it. Wear it all the time for weekend MOTG. Can you get to a big Target? At least you can try on the sizes even if they don't have your color.

OK, that is both good and weird! When I was in the checkout menu, I clicked on something that brought me to "online returns 101" and it all it said was to mail it in and a shipping fee would be deducted. Hm... maybe it was an old link or something?

I see the policy Ceit pointed out, and your experiences returning sound solid, so I think I'm ok. Thanks, everyone!

Rita, did they have a lot of them, or was it a random in-store return? I went to something like 3 targets last week and they didn't have anything like this. Maybe they aren't offering them in SoCal?

They had a full rack in lots of colors. I don't remember seeing this color but honestly I wasn't really looking, just walked through the coats.

I've returned online purchases in the store. THey are really good about it. I am looking at the target webpage and it says you can do it for "most items." I don't think you'd have a problem with clothing, I never have before.

Thanks, Rita! I somehow got 20% off by ordering two sizes, plus free shipping, so I went ahead and got it online - saved a drive and also cheaper overall, yay!

I returned some online purchases as well, but I remember it saying that not ALL online purchases can be returned to the store. The shipping/returns tab for this item says it can be returned to a store.

i posted a pic of it a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty nice and I think it runs TTS. You could probably get away with an XS since you don't have to layer. The small fit me well though sleeves were a tad long.

No worries, Rae -- I have definitely returned Target items available only online in my local Target store.

Rae - I spotted this jacket today at Target and tried on the size Small (they didn't have any XS's left). I think it does run a bit small because I am a solid size 2 or XS in jackets and I would pick the S to allow for layering a sweater underneath--the overall look was still very streamlined. I did also size up in the Gibson Equestrian Blazer that a few YLFers have.
