Can't find a decent white t-shirt

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I might find a stylish white t shirt (long or short sleeves) that is not see-through? It seems like everything in the stores now is so thin that one has to wear a cami underneath! This is very irritating to me. I have looked everywhere and have purchased several shirts on line that had to be returned. I don't want skin tight and I don't want frumpy. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I've tried all the usual stores plus Three Dots and Micheal Stars.

Hi Cathy,

My first thought was: maybe Uniqlo? I don't have personal experience with their tees, but have heard they make good-quality tops. Most of their T-shirt styles come in white, I can't tell you how see-through they are though.
Hopefully other people can chime in with more suggestions too:

I got a few gap essential tees that were great, but one shrank horribly for no apparent reason. But they are not too thin.

Gap favorite tee and Boden tee are not see through. Whether they are stylish or not depends on what you want.

curious about Everlane. But not sure they are big enough for me.

I have the Everlane u neck tee in white. It's a little see through with darker bottoms. I like it. I usually wear a medium and took a large.

also add Boxie https://www.shopboxie.com/ .. at the end of last summer i got a really nice silver/grey vneck, the cotton is soft and the vneck is a great lenght. i plan to add a white one this spring

This topic was discussed a lot last spring/summer. Lots of complaints about the see thru of all the light colors, but especially white..I shall try the suggerstions on here as I am still looking too>.

I like the LL Bean pima cotton tees. They come in many different styles and colors and are quite substantial. I've never had a problem with see-through, even with white.

I have had excellent luck with Lands End, believe it or not. However, I had trouble finding the exact one I liked just now, so I will describe it. I ended up with a crewneck because the v neck, as they are now showing it, is REALLY low cut. However the fabric is wonderful....a blend of supima cotton, modal and a little spandex. I also needed a size M regular instead of large which I would wear in most places, or even XL in the Mossimo brand at Target..... They are good tees, wear well, but I wash and then hang to dry so the spandex doesn't wear out. I've bought these for the last 2 years and they've had gorgeous colors and a really nice white that is not see thru. I just wore my white one this week, and was happy with it's thickness... good luck!

Just got short and long sleeved ones from Tommy Bahama and love them. Machine wash and dry, soft, and very substantial fabric with great drape. Loved the one I got so much I got 6 more! They are the "Indio" style.
