Can't figure out what to pair with this blouse!

I have a long sleeve navy blouse with large cream polka dots similar to this top: http://piperlime.gap.com/brows.....&ap=2

I'm trying to put together a capsule wardrobe for a new job. I love the top, but can't figure out what to pair with it. I'm looking for a pairing that will work for a formal office.

Nice blouse & it should go with a lot but it's hard to say without knowing what is in your wardrobe Can you try it with a few different bottoms & post photos?

For a formal workplace I would start with whatever pencil skirts you have - navy, red, maybe a cream, chocolate brown. Depending on the length it could work well with pants, too. If you need to formal it up a bit because of the large size of the dots, try it under a blazer.

I have a jacket that's similar and I just wear a navy shell tank, navy crops and blue wedge sandals. Maybe my pearls, too.

Skirt or pants in Navy, Cream or White, Red, Tan or Grey would all look great. The top is very cute I think you have a lot of options. You could even do pink or a pastel type color? I consider the navy a neutral.

When I have something that's navy (I love the shirt, by the way!), I like to wear it with a warm tan, cream/white, and red. It's one of my favorite color combos.

Totally gorgeous blouse! Wear it with any color...camel, cognac, gray, black, white, red, pink, yellow. Pencil skirt or pant suit, anything seriously. I want one!

I was going to say what Gigi said. Red, tan, stone, white/cream, grey, even black shirts or trousers. For example, the shirt with a tan skirt and white or red jacket. Yellow, green, or dark pink could also be fun but may not be formal enough.

Gorgeous blouse. For work tucked into a pencil skirt or straight let pants. Could you wear it untucked over a slim leg pant and under a blazer?

I'm in agreement on the recommendation to pair it with cream, tan or red skirt or trousers. It's a classic pairing completely appropriate for an office environment. I could really see if working with tan trousers and simple navy pumps or red trousers with a nude pump. All would work well for a more formal office.

It also would be a great foundation piece worn under a blazer.

Beautiful blouse! It should work with a lot of classic corporate appropriate pieces, as mentioned already. Sometimes it helps me adding a topper to ease into a pattern that's a bit overwhelming, although Iove it (I'm looking at you, leopard patterned shirt). Is that how you feel about this blouse, too?
