Canadians: silk Leith-a-likes at Aritzia

I haven't seen them in person, but they look like a luxe dead ringer for the Leith track pants, complete with the zipper detail at the ankle (which is what really makes the Leiths for me).

They come in black AND cobalt. The cobalt looks delicious.

I hope someone gets a chance to check them out and report back! I be able to in a week or so, but I'm not sure.

Aritzia is Canadian? I've never even been in the store, something about it had me convinced it was a young & slim store. How do you find their stuff generally?

I find the store to skew casual and young and very slim and expensive. I hardly go in there. The last purchase I made was a hoodie for my sister, which actually wasn't very good quality.

I think their sizing is pretty small too.

I am not sure if they have their own label...I have found they carry a bunch of brands, pretty good selection of denim. But, yes, their SAs are pretty young and I can't really identify with their style. Overall it is for a younger crowd, but how could they afford it?!
I like those pants but they are different from the Leiths in that they appear to be intentionally cropped whereby the Leiths tend to pool at the ankles. THey are cute, worth a try.

Aritzia has a number of "house" lines, and a couple of them (Talula and Talula Babaton, I think?) are significantly more sophisticated than the others (TNA, etc., which are very young and sporty). They also carry some random high-end things like Rachel Comey boots and Rag & Bone jeans.

I used to think I fell *way* outside their target demographic, and avoided it for years, but I went in with my sister this year and was surprised. I've found a couple of amazing items that have been workhorses for me. The salespeople have been exceptional at both locations I've shopped at, too. I was completely expecting snooty young things who wouldn't give me the time of day, but I was wrong! Who knew. Angie's right - leave no retail stone unturned.

Sizing-wise, it depends. The dresses I've tried have been TTS, and I had to size down on my drapey blazer. Other items fit at my usual size, but REALLY didn't flatter. Many, but not all, of their things seem cut for the young, tall and curve-less. I typically try on 10-15 items and find one or two that I love, while the others are immediate, laugh-out-loud worthy NOs. These are all in the aforementioned more sophisticated brands. No clue on the sizing in their younger lines as they don't interest me.

All that to say that it's worth a try.

ETA: Wilfred is one of their nicer lines, too.

I've walked past our local Aritzia store a dozen times and never ventured in due to their store window displays - it always looks too young for me.

But now I'm wondering if they are worth checking out. The cobalt version is making me swoon...
