Unfortunately it's not me taking the trip, but my little sister. She applied for a school exchange sponsored by our state ministry for education and she got the call yesterday that she is one of the few that will participate (there were loads more Germans than Canadians who wanted to take part). She will be there for the whole September and October and return in the beginning of November. She will go to highschool there (she's sixteen). I think the Canadian girl will stay with my family sometime next year.

I want to help her with packing and shopping for the trip, she's not really into clothes or fashion (but who doesn't like to look good?).

Do you have any tips? Anything she really needs to take with her? And how do people her age dress, for school and for free time? Thanks.
