Can you wear trousers to a wedding?

I have a wedding to attend in november, its going to be cold and wet. Ive looked for dresses but there is more material in a strippers g string or they are very long billowing dressing more suited to a school girl going to prom.Can you wear trousers or is that a total no no

I have seen it done, but I don't ever do it. But I understand the problem you are facing. Can you wear a dressy suit that you can remix later?

I say so! Appropriately dressy trousers would be totally acceptable in my part of the world, particularly in the cold months.

As long as they are dressy and the rest of your outfit is, as well.

I think it also depends on the social setting. Where I grew up trousers would be no issue at all especially if paired with a nicer shirt and some jewelry. In other situations/locations/societies this could be a no-no regardless of how you dressed them up. Perhaps think a bit about this aspect as well.

Yes, absolutely. But you need an appropriately dressy top/jacket. Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to find tops that are dressy but not too businessy.

And here’s Beatrice Borromeo just recently attending the wedding of Prince Felix of Luxembourg. I fully agree with those fashion commentators who said that her elegant pants suit was a lot more wedding-appropriate than the skimpy dresses worn by a few of the other guests:
