Oh Laura - that sounds perfect! Beautiful "2nd interview" outfit. Good luck and let us know how it goes, OK?

Angie, I purchased this fine-gauge sweater in teal:

http://www.anntaylor.com/catal.....or=Peacock Yarn&defaultSizeType=Regular.

The idea is to wear the sweater with my black skirt suit, chunky pearls, microfishnets and Clarks Mary Jane pumps, with a MK black tote that's textured.

For the first interview I wore a satin, animal print shell in silver and grey, with the same black suit and the same pearls and same shoes, and a red patent tote.

I think this changes it up enough! Do you?

Oh, that color will look gorgeous on you and the outfit sounds great.

I have the same top (alas, your shade was just a hair too dialed-back for my coloring and I needed a replacement black sweater, so...boring me!); I love semi-sheer sweaters, but if you haven't already planned to wear a tank-style camisole underneath I'd definitely recommend doing so to keep your bra from showing front or back.

ps I am wondering if I wore your silver/grey animal print shell to *my* last big deal meeting, ha.

Oh Vix, wouldn't it be a hoot if we had the same suit tops?

Actually given the VERY limited selection at BR and AT (full disclosure: I take a petite size, thus further limiting my options), maybe it's not all that surprising!

I like that plan much better, Laura! So it's not exactly the same outfit - sorry I got that impression.

[Laura, I keep (unsuccessfully!) trying to break free of the Ann Taylor thing for Semi- to Very Serious Business Looks, so if your Round 1 top was/is the top in this post I will crack up -- but be very happy I'm not alone in defaulting to the dang store! http://wp.me/pyyMZ-1Tm ]

Vix, my animal print shell is not identical but very, very similar. Obviously AT needs to get some new ideas! I used to default to AT all the time when I was in the corporate world. Funny how the options haven't really expanded much since then.

p.s. like the sharkskin style suit

Now I want to do a "show me your shiny silver/grey AT animal print shell" and see how many variations we get, ha.

In their defense, there aren't that many ways to "go" when trying to stock for clients that need a business formal or the little-bit-pregnant business semi-formal look. [I mean it could be worse...AT could be Brooks Brothers!]

I admit I'm glad I have a fair amount of flexibility with work wear. But if I didn't, I guess I could be kept in silk abstracted animal print tops M-F!

ps Thanks for the faux-sharkskin jacket love! Now I just need the diamond pinky ring....

I love the sweater you bought!

I wore the same jacket/skirt suit for my 1st and 2nd interviews, but changed up the shirt underneath. I likely wore the same shoes, because I have one nicely polished pair of mid-heeled (1.5-2") black pumps (I didn't want to bust out my 3" + heels for this).

Good luck with your 2nd interview!

hey! i like brooks brothers!

Laura, I think that sweater will look GREAT.

I'm also in the team that thinks that you should change up your interview outfit - not head to toe, but a different top, shoes, and accessories - if you are meeting with the same people or same company. I think part of it is that like Kristen and Marianna, I used to be a recruiter and interviewed quite a variety of candidates, and I appreciated it when prospective employees would put a great deal of thought into what they wore - even if they were wearing something completely different during a second interview.
