Here is the Kut Catherine slim boyfriend in this “exceptional” color. It has more fading than I expected, both on the front thigh and in the back, not shown. For some reason these seem to run a bit smaller than the white ones.

I’m looking at these for a different purpose than the white, in that the white ones are specifically to add a white bottom to play with this summer, and likely be my only white bottoms for awhile.

The blue I am trying primarily for whether it would expand and “update” my blue jeans capsule that I had started building last year with mostly darkwash jeans intended for smart casual. I don’t need a large jeans capsule, but have learned I enjoy having a few different lengths and fits to achieve slightly different “vibes” or work better with this or that top and topper.

These jeans to me would be intended for casual wear (regular after-work casual; errands) I can use a not-darkwash for that, but not sure I should. The Kut boyfriends in darker blue are sold out in larger sizes at Nordie’s but could look elsewhere.

I liked the fit of this size when I looked in the mirror, meaning that in the blue, the not-too loose fit looked okay to my eye, while the white ones needed more room—these are also 8’s but seem to fit somewhere between the white 6 and 8 fit-- but in the photo they seem to look like I should size up. Is that photo-truth or photo-trick? It won’t hurt me to re-order to try, of course.

Also, these have the intentional whiskering and fading that make them much more casual. Will that date much more quickly? There is a chance I’ll tire of it sooner.

I’m not going to be a big mid-leg roller, so for me rolling would be a bit above ankle to show off your shoes, or let them scrunch over shoes. Is that a fashion faux pas? But if I can do that, it makes them more versatile, to me, because the slight rolling says more “summer” while the scrunching is more practical for cooler weather and footwear. These are long enough to be full + length.

I have not ventured into many BF’s in other brands, and the goal is to have another option for an everyday jean. So I could be more patient and look at some others or even watch & wait on trending and fits.

1) with plaid shirt--very Huck.

2) with drapey blouse

3) with T and topper

Summarizing: Size up to compare; skip the fading and whiskering; check out other brands.
