Can these pants be hemmed?

I have been looking for a pair of silky, cropped harem-like pants WITHOUT a dropped crotch for years and these seem perfect. They're going to be too long on me though (as are all pants of this style). With all the bunching and slouching, I'm wondering if they can be easily shortened?

I would think so....you could always bring them to a trusted tailor (leaving the tags on) and get their opinion. Cute pants!

I say hem. If you love them that much and they were difficult to find...bring them to a good tailor. They will be customized to your body and look that much better!

Sorry Una. This is why I'm on a modified SYC. I can't say no to something I have been looking for for ages. It defeats the purpose of SYC, which I think is to help you become a more efficient shopper.

Maya, that is a gorgeous dress - the V looks awfully deep, though, for us cleavage-phobics. Sour grapes, I know.

Whatev. I even get cleavage in a turtleneck. I don't like it but I just live with it.

Anyway, I'd probably layer it.

But that is all besides the point, since I'm not getting it. I did get the pants though!

Maya, if it were me I would take the pants to the Nordstrom tailor. If s/he says that the pants can be shortened, I would have their tailor do it--that way if it doesn't look right, they will have a pretty good chance at fair recourse.

I love the dress. I think I'm going to order it.

I'm surprised you like the dress Steph! It's definitely a waist-hiding type, which I know you aren't fond of. I would love to see it on you. I saw the Ted Baker bags, btw, and found them a little too large for my taste, but couldn't resist this one for the price:

Maya I love the trousers and the Ted Baker handbag, that's how to shop the sales in style. I hope the alterations go well.
