Can pockets be put into jackets and whatcha think of it?

I just got this jacket for my birthday yesterday and I love it, but it has no pockets! Can a tailor put some in, do you think? Also, what do you think of the jacket? http://www.herbergers.com/shop.....ur+jackets

Lovely jacket. Were you thinking of adding them to the inside, or I guess I mean so they are not visible? Possibly a tailor could add them into a seam at the side.

Yes, make sure you take it to someone good so the pockets don't show through the actual jacket.

I often put pockets into things or make pocket bags where there are faux pockets.

I think it depends on how you wear your clothes and what the pockets are for.
I like to put my hand or hands in my pockets when I'm standing or walking, I like
to use those pockets to tug the jacket. I'm obviously not Team Polish. If you are and
the fabric is somewhat thin, whatever you put in your pocket will distort the jacket front
unless it is quite lightweight and thin.

For putting your hands in your pockets, take out two jackets you already have - one with pockets at the side seam and one with pockets in the actual front area. There is a big difference in comfort. Also, pockets at side seams tend to balloon out a bit and unless quite deep, whatever is in your pockets can work itself out while walking or slip out while sitting.

Thanks SO much! I think I will just leave it alone....I dont want to take the chance that it will alter the looks of it and I do usually wear gloves if its cold out, actually. Appreciate the answers, everyone! Glad to hear the jacket is liked
