Hi everyone! Just checking in. You've all been on my mind and I wanted to come in and give you all a shout out!
I wish I had a lot to report on my dad, but I don't. He's pretty much the same. He injured his rib when he passed out on Saturday, so now we are facing possible lung problems (because he's not breathing deeply or coughing effectively, because of the pain in the rib.)
I have been orchestrating all his medical appointments, finding new doctors, and researching possibilities. It's frusrating to have so many possible leads and have to address them one at a time. It is exhausting him even further, so I'm trying to space his appointments with enough time to rest inbetween. It's also frustrating not knowing what has caused the fairly rapid change in his health. Two months ago, he was working in his gardens 10-12 hours day--and working harder than men half his age could work. Today, it is all he can do to walk around his yard with a cane for 10 minutes.
Thank you all for thinking of me, and praying for him. I have been reading Angies blog, but that's about all I've had time to do. LT was supposed to have a game tonight, but it was cancelled due to rain, so I had a little unexpected break to pop in here to say hi. I can't begin to tell you all how touched I am by your sentiments in this and the other thread. You all truly are a wonderful group of friends and I am so blessed to be part of your lives. Please do keep praying for us--I beleive in the power of prayer. My dad's name is Cy and he is a very spiritual man who has a close relationship with his God. He is also the kind of man who appreciates a well dressed woman. When I took him to his last appointment, I made a point of dressing nicely and coiffing my hair and applying my makeup. He said, "my don't you look lovely." and I said "I know how much you like it when your daughters look nice." and he said "yes, yes I do." How sweet is he?
Thank you again, and I'll keep coming back to check in when I have time.
