can i start wearing boots??

Hi! i just moved from the westcoast to the eastcoast- its starting to get pretttty chilly over here- im not used to this type of weather! is it too early to start wearing boots??

Yes!!! (I live in southwestern Ontario). But it;s a bit early for the fur or fleece lined ones, unless you change or your feet will sweat all day. I have been wearing my booties for a week or so. When I close my pool, I haul out the boots.

I think it's time to wear boots when you want to and you're comfortable. I plan on breaking mine out ASAP. I'm in Maryland where daytime temps are still hitting the 70s, but Iceland made me crave more boot-wearing weather!

I'll start with short booties and lighter colors and styles -- the heavier ones will come out later when the temps drop more.

I wore blue ankle boots on July 1 for my flight from Tahoe to FL. I don't subscribe to fashion rules like white after labor day, blah blah blah. As long as you are comfortable, both mentally, and with the weather, why the heck not?!?

I live in Seattle, there is rain/mist one day, and sunny weather the next. I have my lighter brown boots in full use, even with thicker boot sock underneath. Definitely time for fall-ish colors to move in as well. Ask the leaves!!

I vote yes for indoor-type boots (fashion boots) but not winter lined ones, yet. Like Janet, I am wearing my light and autumn coloured ones and saving the dark and heavier ones for later on.

I'm in Virginia and won't pull my boots out until I also start wearing tights, which last year was mid-November. It just depends on the weather. This year, the weather feels like it's cooling off earlier. That said, I can't think of a time I wore boots before mid-October:)

Not too early for booties or unlined knee height boots - I would consider it too early though for actual winter boots.

My personal rule is that you can wear boots as soon as the leaves start turning. Leaves are turning in the mountains in VA, so I think you're good

As long as it's cold enough for your feet not to get sweaty, I say go for it. Personally I usually wait until the temps get below 70 before I start wearing boots, but that's just my personal rule.

I'm in Winnipeg and have been seeing boots for a few weeks now. We had a few days that were below 10C in the morning so easy to justify. I resisted until today.
