Can I get a fit reprieve?

So I know everyone said I was supposed to return these shorts, but with my Dad's surgery and recovery the return window got away from me.

Ah, I hate when I miss the window... I bet you can make them work, though. Maybe with a long top, as you said, and some tights? Or even with a tucked top, contrasting belt to draw the eye to the waist, and a long open jacket?

Anna, with your styling skills, I'm sure you can make these sing! The only YLF rule is to have fun with fashion, and you are fearless, creative and fab.

I think a belt might help with the slight whiskering. If I saw you in these on the street I wouldn't think they were ill fitting. I think tights and heels or wedge sneakers would be amazing.

I second Rae about wearing them with tights. I think they could be a fun alternative to a skirt for night. I'd love to see them styled with a simple top too.

I think you can absolutely make these work. I would go for an oversized top and tights and maybe boots

Not sure where you bought these, but some places will let you return items even if you're past the date. You could try it. I honestly think you can do better than these shorts. If you like the tights-with-shorts look, maybe they would work for that?

My eye for fit is not nearly so refined as everyone else's, but I think they are ok, if not perfect -- certainly not a complete fit disaster!

I do think they would look cool with a black top or blazer.

The question is, will you really wear them? When I end up keeping an item like this, that I do not feel fab in, it ends up being a closet orphan, no matter what my intentions are. I just never end up having the patience to work that hard to make an item work. Maybe you enjoy the challenge, though!

Can you wear them with black spanx stockings underneath and black tall boots? That would resolve the fit issue.

Yes, it is not that serious. Enjoy your shorts. I would wear a black sweater ( don't tuck just let fall over the "issue") , tights and booties with it.

They would look fab!
