Can anyone recommend a red v neck cardigan?

I tried the Victoria's Secret silk/cashmere blend one (pic below) and found it boxy and too orangey red. I'd like some nice and/or durable fibers, not acrylic or a flimsy rayon that shrinks in the first wash! I tend toward closer and cropped fits. If you have any leads, I'd appreciate it. I skimmed Gap, BR, ON, and came up empty. Under $100 unless we're talking cashmere

I like that first one, too, and it's a great price. Does anybody know if the colors match the Halogen skirts?

Here are some photos. Yes, the colors match the skirts. And the sleeves are slim but you could layer it over a close-fitting long-sleeved top.

BTW, I should tell you that I bought the skirt in Rio Red and returned it because it was not a true, bright red. The color in the photo on line is pretty accurate.

This might not be as nice as what you're looking for, but did you try Target? They always seem to carry a good true red in cardis since it's their uniform color, lol!

Ooh, thanks for the heads up MaryK. I want a true lipstick red. Brick isn't what I'm looking for. Claire, excellent point about the uniform color lol! I will look into it. Even 100% cotton is just fine, although cashmere would be nice

MaryK, the cardis you are wearing are different than the one I linked to. I wonder if these colors will also match the skirts as well as yours do? Or fit similar? I decided to order a couple of these to go with my Halogen Seamed skirts.

Did you find that the matching Halogen sweaters ran large like the skirts did?

Agreeing with Claudia. I think the cardigans MaryK is wearing are the v-neck cardigans that were part of the anniversary sale that have normal sleeves. I have the black version, LOVE it, and am really sad I didn't buy more colors.

The ones Claudia linked to were put out a bit later, have ribbed sleeves and (sorry to throw a spanner) I didn't like them at all when I tried them on. The sleeves are too tight to layer anything with sleeves underneath and they weren't flattering on me.

YMMV.

Thanks Sylvie. I was just trying to cancel my order even before reading your post. I decided that 100% wool wouldn't be as seasonally versatile as a cotton or cotton blend cardigan.

Nordies is fast on fulfillment with it, they aren't sure if they can cancel my order and I just placed it an hour or so ago.

I just ordered the JCrew dream cardigan (in poppy) and I love it! It has a drop of orange but is very close to true red. The fabric is nice too, it's wool blend and thick without being bulky. I just ordered a second one in green (with 30% off it was only $44 or so).

It was pretty true to size. I got the petite small and it fit just fine.

Nordstrom was not able to cancel my order, so when I get it, I will report back my opinion/review of this cardigan for anyone who may be considering these, too.

Thanks, I'll be interested to hear. I have decided I just might have to put this on the list of holes and when I come across one, it will happen. Searching tirelessly isn't working lol. I am finicky about too loose, too long, wrong red, what material, etc.

Mo, one of them is the Rio Red, I'll let you know the shade of it IRL.

Like MaryK, I ordered the Seamed pencil skirt in Rio Red but returned it. Mainly because it was too big, I had to go down two sizes from their chart on this skirt, but agree the color wasn't a warm enough red for what I wanted. We'll see how the sweater is...

I received the cardigans today.

The pros: soft, very light weight knit, non-itchy. Colors were as pictured and very pretty.

The cons for me: too short in the torso hitting @ above my high hip, VERY form fitting.

Mo, you might want to give this sweater a try in the Rio Red being a petite and slender gal that you are. This fits just like it looks on the model. The red is a warm true red, more tomato red with no blue or brown undertones.

Thanks for reporting back, Claudia. I have the VS multiway one on order but if it doesn't work out, I'll look into it. In general I'm not a fan of the warmer, Chinese or tomato reds as much as true red for myself. Even the red top in my profile picture is warmer than I'd like actually.

Thanks, Di. Actually, I gave up and went with a berry instead. I'm thinking my want of a particular shade is going to mean I'm better off looking in person, once SYC is over.
