LOL guys, there's no 'searching secret', really. Usually I already have a hunch where I might find a certain item and I go directly to that website. It doesn't really matter if I find it there or not, I always read or see something that triggers me to think of something else, and from there on I just hop from one site to the next. It's all rather intuitive actually, and afterwards I often can't even explain it myself, the logic behind the leaps my brain makes;-)
If I've no idea where to look, then I just type in a term in Google or Yahoo (they can yield different results, yes), or I try shopstyle.com, and then, again, just see where that takes me.
I guess I just happen to have a knack for finding things online relatively quickly. Also, over the years I have had tons of on the job practice: as a translator you are online for a good part of the day verifying terms, looking up all sorts of things that come up in a text... And also important: I really really enjoy searching things on the internet (anything really, clothing, gifts, travel ideas, obscure song lyrics, movie titles somebody can't remember...), so I don't stop when the workday is over;-)
I have a huge grin on my face here Maya, because that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm actually starting up a new business as a personal book shopper as we speak. It's the perfect way for me to combine my research skills with one of my big passions: books & literature. So there you go...
Bella and Nicole have posted lovely options as well Laura. And I would definitely not say no, if I got the chance to go shopping with Angie in person. Can't wait to see which boots you'll get!!
