Camel colored coat: what type of coloring does it flatter?

Just curious. I've always wanted one but I'm not so sure it flatters my coloring (medium skin tone with dark blond hair). Is there a type of coloring it tends to flatter the most?

I'm wondering about this too. I have this coat in this color:

But I got it pre-YLF and I'm not sure if it's best for me. I have medium skin and black hair. I usually wear a colorful bright scarf with it though, so hopefully that helps if it's not that flattering. It doesn't seem to be as deadening as stark beige though.

Need to see the right camel against your skin tone and possibly with another colour like black or brown. Impossible to tell otherwise.

I don't have one yet, but I'm inclined to think it is probably not the most flattering on me. I have been looking at people wearing them and it seems like those with lighter hair (like Angie) or darker hair (like Maya) look great in them. Mid-toned people like myself seem to kind of blend with their coats. The appeal to me is it is classic and probably does not show dirt that well.

I had a camel coat last year. I had always wanted one; they just look so classy and adult to me. But my coloring is like yours and it wasn't a great color for me.

So I made sure to always wear a colored scarf that was flattering to my skin tone, and I always tucked it close to my face to brighten it. That worked for me!

I've always wanted one of these too, for the same reasons Kristen mentions. Thing is - I've tried several on, and the colour just doesn't look that great on me. I look all 'beige' or something. The same thing happens when I try on the classic tan/khaki coloured trench coats.

That said, I'm looking to get out of my black coat rut.

Have you considered taking photos in the store dressing room? I've seen some YLF'ers post pics of things tried on in stores and it works just as well (usually) as buying it, bringing it home, trying to snazz it all up, working up the nerve to post a pic etc. In fact, it might be easier to snap pics of these things in the store.
