I'd like to start by thanking all of you for counseling me against buying the too-tall Frye boots I showed in this post: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ect-height. As a newbie to tall boots, your input was very helpful.

I tried on my different boots before arriving at the Born Sage boots in walnut (http://www.zappos.com/born-sage), which I just love - they are the right height (not an easy task since I'm only 5'1), the right mix of tight + slouchy, a good mix of sturdy but not too rugged and are incredibly comfortable. I've shown them in pic 1 below (mostly a baby pic, lol)

I'm tempted to get the same boots in black. But...I don't know if that's a rookie error. They're pretty stylized (buttons going up the side), so it would be pretty obvious that they are the "same" boot.. They're also not cheap (although as tall boots go, not terrible expensive either). Am I just stockpiling if I get a pair in black?

Other considerations:
- I am rebuilding a wardrobe post-baby and post-student life so budget is a consideration
- I could use the money instead to dabble in a more on-trend shoe/boot, such as an ankle bootie (but I fear I might get less use out of it)
- There are only 2 pair left in my size in black on zappos (Oh no!)

Thanks!
