Now K/R -- Buy? Very yellow skirt

I just tried this skirt on and loved the fit, but am not sure about the color. I tend to like wearing skirts in the spring/summer, and maybe if it wasn't below freezing and about to snow tonight, the yellow would appeal to me more. I'd love it immediately if it was slightly darker. I'm buying an all-new wardrobe for the season, and want to make sure I'm buying modern pieces. Thoughts?

ETA: very quickly styled. I wanted to try it with a chunky sweater, though I wouldn't necessarily wear those toe together. Last pic shows the color the best.

I really like it. It looks like a well made skirt. It depends on how fond you are of bold colors and if you would get tired of the color, it definitely says spring!
I can see it with various shades of blue or grey or even reds/fushia if you're into bold color blocking.

I could see it with a printed top, maybe navy or black and white. I think with a color this bold on bottom you would need to match the color stauration, I was just playing in the closet and with a bold piece I had to go equally bold otherwise it just didn't "go" as well, if that makes sense. If you are like me, though, and love color, this shouldn't be a problem.

I would be curious to hear how you are approaching buying an all new wardrobe for the season. I've had to do this recently too and it can be daunting. Then I get distracted in the stores, hearing whispers of, "buy me, buy me" and end up with a hodge podge in the closet. I would be eager to hear updates on how this process is going if you don't mind sharing.

I love how you've styled it here. I really love it with that chunky sweater! I don't know why but I like those colors together and feel like they work with the sandals, but maybe someone will tell me I'm crazy. Love the other looks too.

I think abc is right about going equally bold on top. (My mother the artist would say you need a tone of equal value.)

I bought a bright yellow skirt last year and did not wear it much at all, but not because of the color -- because I wear skirts very, very rarely. I love the plans you have for this one.

I live it with the chunky (is that cognac) sweater. I would not have thought to pair the 2 but to me it looks so good. I like the others too.
You American gals have so many more options when it comes to clothes. Sigh.

I love the skirt. What a stunning style and colour. The style and fit is excellent.

It is distinctive - so you want to be sure that you do like it. It is a classic style so I think it has longevity but it is current.

I like the stylings you have done. I can see it with blue, black, white, navy and I actually think the colour of the sweater does work with it as they are both intense.

A skirt like this would give a real zing to my wardrobe!

Well, I've had yellow on my mind for a few weeks, so I love the skirt. It seems to fit you really well, and you have great ideas for styling it. You wrote that you'd love it immediately if it were slightly darker. This makes me wonder if you should hold out for a skirt in the color you really want. Even though this skirt looks wonderful on you...

Thanks, all! My 4-year-old LOVED it as soon as I tried it on, and was emphatically telling me to go back to get it after we'd left the store. He loves the color and the pockets. I'm glad I went back for it -- the color is not quite as pale yellow as it looked in the store. It feels amazing, too! Thick cotton, lined, and even has some lace backing along the hem. I've tried on every Kate Spade skirt that I've ever seen at TJ Maxx and am glad to finally have find one that works. They always look so pretty, but have had something off about them (for me).

Now... 6-12 inches on the Cape tonight/tomorrow, but only 1-2 inches expected here. PHEW.

Great skirt! I hesitated to buy a yellow skirt a couple of years ago but it proved to be amazingly versatile and quickly became my go to basic.

I love that buttery yellow especially with the black and white top. I think you have to be comfortable with the color. If you get to that point I say this skirt is a keeper.
