Sveta, I think you are probably right about that. And leggings remind me of "leotards" (thick bunchy tights we wore to keep warm). Different from today's tights, even fleece ones or sweater tights, because they always fell down on me (just like leggings do...)
Angie, you are trying so hard to help! Alas...the reason the tights and a skirt work is that the waistband on tights is a lot thinner (I think). I never have a problem with that or feel uncomfortable. Only with thick elastic layered up. And the Vince Camuto knit skirts are not warm enough. Jennifer (Shiny) says the same -- also Shannon. It's odd because they are long and self-lined, but they don't work. They also stick to tights like the dickens and ride around, another irritation with knit over knit. I could look for warmer knit skirts, though, and will probably do that -- another year. I do have the fun jacquard knit tube skirt from Zara (knee length) and it works well.
TG, I don't know whether to be glad or sad that I am not alone in the daily diet of skinnies....
Caro, thank you! And yes, I think that would be such a fun way to branch out, and who knows? Maybe I will find the right version and it will work after all. I can always keep looking....
