I am the last person on the planet to jump on the colored bottoms bandwagon - here is my first attempt with the burgundy trousers. I went simple and paired it with a black T for my first outing. I added a geometric print red silk scarf in my hair and rarely worn black leather lace-up boots I've had since the 90s (as if the square toe doesn't give that away). I think of these as my "newsboy" boots. Over it all goes a black cord jacket that hasn't been in worn in years. I don't know why not because it fits well and is wonderfully comfortable.
I swapped out jewelry at the last minute - the neckline of the T was crawling up and obscuring the rose coral necklace so I put on a longer necklace featuring a pretty piece of lace agate, and swapped out my white coin pearl dangly hoops for a simpler pair of hoops with a single red pearl drop.
I quite like this, but I suspect I'll have a minor crisis next time around when I try to pair the burgundy with something other than black ...
