I have been eying the Burberry Brit 'Needlethorpe' Pleat Back Peacoat. I really like the pleated back. I've never owned a Burberry coat before. Are they worth the price? (This would be the most I've ever spend on a coat!) Also, do they work well on petites, are are the coats generally made for tall women? For reference, I'm 5'2", about 110 pounds and am an inverted triangle, so shoulder room is a big issue in coats and jackets.
Yes. BEAUTIFUL. A little different and more expsinesive than the one I bought last year at the NAS.
The sleeves will probably be too long, so you'll need to factor in that alteration. If you are after a warm coat - this is NOT it. They are quite lightweight.
I tried this on! I'm about your height but a bit heavier, and pear shaped. I felt it fit well through the body on me (I tried a U.S. 6) but as Angie said, the sleeves were much too long on me. I actually liked it overall but don't really need a new coat this year.
Yes, Burberry coats are worth it. I bought the same one Angie bought last year and have a classic black trench. I love them both. Really just chiming in to say don't let the sleeves stop you. My MIL bought a Burberry trench with sleeves much like these. The alterations person was able to take the length off at the shoulder. You really couldn't tell it had been altered. They can also move belt loops, etc. Btw, linked is a seamstress who goes over the construction of a Burberry coat. The attention to detail is amazing.
