Isabel,
I am really sorry to hear about this complication. I can so much relate to the paradox of "screwing something else up" in hopes of curing one thing. It is very frustrating, especially because when it comes to medical treatments, I feel like I always end up choosing the "lesser evil", and that sometimes leads to regrets and second thoughts. Trust me, I do understand your frustration... but here is what I think. To me, you are the ultimate warrior princess, vested with amazing superpowers that include: Wit , charisma, perseverance and a kick a&& attitude. I know you will ovecome this. I have zero doubt in my mind.

Hey, I do love your choice of "bubbles"... Ice cream has calcium (smile).

Please feel free to PM me, call, text, send smoke signals etc... I'm here if you need to talk. I hope you don't mind if I check on you from time to time.

OMG you found bubble ice cream??? HERE?!? We must go... To celebrate your successful surgery.
Isabel - I'm so sorry to hear of your continued health struggles. It must be so hard to hear that something you are doing to deal with one health problem has led you to another. I am sending the biggest HUGS I can right now!

Your surgery will be successful, I have no doubt of that. And you have had wonderful suggestions for helping with your bone mass loss. I can't imagine the shock of hearing this news and having to deal with it immediately.

You are an amazing woman full of strength, dignity and fab sense of humor - you can overcome ANYTHING
I am sending love and hugs your way, dear Isabel! Please try not to second guess yourself. You have a complicated case and you made the best decision possible at that time with what information you had at hand. The important thing now is to concentrate on recovery and moving forward.. You are lucky to have a excellent team of doctors and live in a city offering world class medical care. You are in good hands!

You will be in my thoughts and I am sending positive healing vibes your way. I am so glad to hear that you are planning on doing some yoga to center yourself and definitely treat yourself to that new robe.

Take care, dear friend!
xoxo

Dear Isabel, that's such a tough thing to hear when you're doing what you must to heal your body and take the recommended meds. Have you taken Zometa or any other bone-strengthening drugs in your protocol? You are a strong woman who carries amazing energy and light and this will carry you through. Sending hugs and good wishes. We care and are always here for you!!
Izzy, I'm sending you huge hugs and lots of love right now! Dang, life can smack us in the head sometimes, can't it?

I have a couple of ideas for you, and they aren't earth-shattering or urgent, so you may consider them at your leisure.

The first is that adequate testosterone levels help replace bone, and cartilage too. Most of us are deficient in this wonderful hormone, and replacing it in its bioidentical form is very good for us. I have a video to watch from a very knowledgeable hormone doc if you (or others) are interested. He is one of Suzanne Somers's gurus.

Second is that I adore this Buddhist nun, Pema Chodron, maybe you have heard of her? Her wisdom is so natural, practical, and compassionate. She rocks! I highly recommend you visit her site and read anything you can get your hands on of hers.

Now, go eat your bubbles like a good girl.

You made the right decision based on the information you had at the time, don't beat your self up because of hindsight.

I honestly swore for the first time in months when I read your post Isabel, you will continue to be in my thoughts.
Please, please, please don't second guess yourself about the double mastectomy. You did the best you could with the information you had. Who would have predicted that your bone loss would be so much greater than normal? At least this was monitored, and now you know. So glad this wasn't a return of the cancer or that it had matasticized (sp).

Ummm. You know that Nordies Triple Points Days ends before Tuesday? I think Sunday is the last day. Had to mention that, lol.

I'd forgotten about the OT section. Gotta check more often. Hugs; I will be thinking about you esp. on Tuesday.
Isabel, I am so sorry to hear this. I will be thinking about you and am sure that you will come out of this surgery healthier and happier.
Coming back to give you another (gentle) hug, Isabel! And some chocolate and wine! (I know it's early in the day -- you can save it for later! )

Hang in there, and know that you are in all of our thoughts.
Im so sorry you have to go through this...You are such an incredibly strong, beautiful, sweet lady.... cant add anything more to what others have said, but know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers and B is sending sloppy, healing doggy kisses to you!
Isabel, I am so sorry about this news. You have been through enough for anyone..and it seems deeply unfair that you have to go back for more surgery.

I will be holding you in my heart and hoping for the best possible outcome for you. BIG HUG! XOXO
My best wishes for the best possible outcome for you!

And I am so, so touched that in the midst of your own troubles you cared enough to share warnings and advice to the rest of us. Thanks for YOUR good wishes!
I am so sorry to hear this, Isabel. I will be thinking of you as you travel this new road.
My dear Isabel - this totally sucks. No way around it. And if/when you ever just want to whine, bitch, cry, rage, etc. etc. - just let me know - I'm a phone call away.

You are an intelligent, beautiful and wise woman and I so wish that you didn't have to go through this. Please know that you are in my thoughts, my prayers, and my heart. Love you!
Feel better and thank you, will take all your generous advice.
Isabel, I am sending plenty of good thoughts, hugs and prayers your way.
What a horrible shock! You have received some great medical advice and perspective. Best of luck for an easy surgery and recovery. Your bravery is inspiring.
I'm so sorry Isabel. I'm sending you big hugs and and prayers.
Wishing you the best with your surgery today, Isabel! Love you!!!

Me too! Sending you healing energy.
Wishing you the best today. Hope you were able to snag a luscious new robe to aid in the healing process
I'm sorry! I know something about replacing one disease for another. I have become philosophical: If I'm here to have a problem, that's a win... and when I die, no more problems. Another win. Ha! Stay strong. And one can look forward to a nice complexion after surgery (the oxygenation)...
You have been in my thoughts today. I hope your surgery went well and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
xoxo
Praying that your surgery went well today and a speedy recovery so we can have you back on the forum soon. : )

XOXO

Hi Isabel,
I'm hoping that your surgery went well. I've had you in my thoughts and prayers.
XO
Thank you sooooo much. MaryK, Mochi, Zap, AJ, Debora, Rachy, Casual, I am so touched that you all thought of me yesterday. With everything that you all have going on it really moves me that you would still find room in your thoughts for me. Your support has been instrumental for me.

Things went really, really well. No need for an incision. The surgery took 2.5 hours longer than expected because of the endometriosis, by the surgeon was able to do it laproscopically. I am so lucky to have access to such amazing doctors. I am home and feeling well and very happy that all those awful meds are over. I have moved on from my wonderful medical team to my wonder sisterhood team.

I love you all !!

Isabel
Hooray! Isabel is home!! Mwah! Love you back!!
