Angie's post about the non-clothing related ways to up your style quotient got me thinking about my shoes. I love shoes! Some time ago, I started seeing shoes as art, and I began picking them out as such. I was also a late bloomer to the world of wearing high heels, so that was a huge novelty in my 30's. Fast forward to now, and I realize that I'm just not wearing them all. Unfortunately, being the art lover that I am, I just can't seem to part with the ones I'm not wearing because I still think they (most of them anyway) are beautiful. I honestly don't know anymore whether certain ones are too dated to wear, or if my feet are changing and I want more comfort. It is probably a little of both. The other sad truth about my collection is that some of the poorer quality ones, that aren't as beautiful (and are more dated) have gotten the most wear and are the most comfortable. I have attached photos of every single pair of shoes (40 total) that I own. The last photo is my "shoes of shame" - ones that I really don't like and almost never wear (especially in public) but you know... there actually are times when they come in handy. Without going into detail about which ones have comfort issues and/or need repair, I want your honest opinions about how they LOOK - I'm talking gut reactions. I will not take ofence. This will tell me a lot about what direction to go in when it comes to keeping/repairing, and even buying new ones. (And will help me know which ones to possibly offer up to you all if I can't make some of the good ones work.) I have room for every pair, and can even add more without straining my closet, so that is not a factor. I'm also hoping that by now you have an idea of my style (although that has been evolving a lot in recent months) and can help me edit with focus. I'm sorry about the ton of photos, but I wanted you to be able to really see them. I decided to give you the info on brand of shoe and materials because I know not everything is able to translate well in photos. If you are able to take the time to get through it all, I will be so grateful!! Also, any other observations about shoes I should look into buying, or general thoughts are welcome. I always learn so much from you all!
