B. and I woke up to a surprisingly sunny and relatively warm day in Seattle for early April, and decided to make the most of it. We went out to brunch at a local bistro with absolutely mouth-watering food - I've been there at lunchtime before, but never for breakfast. We treated ourselves to artistically plated breakfast burritos, and I had a delicious tangerine mimosa. Not a bad way to start the morning!
Afterwards, we headed over to our favorite off-leash dog park. We don't have a dog - Shadow, my Sheltie, is a family dog that lives with my parents, though she has claimed B. as her own.
I know it seems strange to arrive dogless at a dog park, but we really enjoy watching dogs playing and jumping into the river, and since we're hoping to get a dog in the future (we'd have to move, so not this year) it's fun to "window shop" for different breeds that we like. The dog area is in the mist of a huge park, and we watched bald eagles and hawks (and model airplanes) soaring nearby, while Great Blue Herons nested in trees overhead. A gorgeous and restful day that I badly needed.
