Brown or Black? Brown or Blaaaaack?? Need ASAP!

I would like to decide tonight, so that I can nab the other size if needed and so the store doesn't think *I* damaged the boots I need to send back - thanks in advance!

I'd been keeping a hairy eyeball on these boots for... 2 seasons? 3? They finally came into my target price range, so I ordered in two sizes and two colors. I think they'd be a great crossover boot for Fridays and weekends. The bad news is the brown came badly scuffed on one toe and are also too big. The good news is that they are still available in the other size, so I can get those if brown wins. so...

Brown pros:
-less aggressive color
- hubsie's favorite
- faux shearling lining
- matches AS jacket
- no existing chocolate casual boots

Brown cons:
-Suede foot harder to keep nice
- hassle of the exchange

Black pros:
-Matches my F21 jacket
-my size is already here
- more moto-boot-ish, can probably replace existing moto boots that have no heel/arch support
- foot is regular leather - no suede issues

Black cons:
- I have black casual boots and tall black dress boots
- no shearling lining
- hubs likes less

I am leaning toward brown... what say you?

ETA 1-4: left boot is black, right boot brown.
5-6 is brown
7-9 is black

The way it shows in the pictures, black looks better. But it sounds like you prefer the brown. Go with your gut instincts.

If you already have black boots I'd go for brown. Though it's really hard to tell the difference in the photos.

Yeah, sorry Anna. I lightened them up as much as I could... it is a really dark brown, so maybe they can go with black stuff, too.

You guys are so awesome - thanks for the quick replies! I just got off the phone with Amazon to have them send another brown right away. No return shipping charge since they have that big scuff.

These are will be my first knee-high casual boots. I will very much enjoy having warm, warm shins provided by the furry lining. To make room and $ for these, I'm reselling two pairs that weren't filling holes (duplicate knee-high black dress boots, and a pair with a wobbly heel that I'm too lazy to fix). I might still let these dark brown ones replace my flat black motos. We'll see. Yay for paring down the wardrobe by buying new stuff!
