Thanks, Fabbers. So excited to have some dressy pieces that really feel like me. I struggle with this capsule because I skew so casual and always default to keeping things that I can wear to work as well. I tend to shy away from things that are too special (the exception being the fur jacket.) I love the subtle shine and color of these pieces. Can’t wait to wear them!
@Shevia: You are brilliant. The light blue button down is one of my faves. Thank you.
@slimcat: Thank you! Dark floral looks great too! Great idea.
@AJ: Thank you. I do have a striped knit dress from a few years ago. It’s not dressy though--very casual and winter weight. This dress is definitely more dressy.
@Bijou: Thank you! It is a capsule, isn’t it. I don’t think I’ve ever really put one together that felt this cohesive. It’s all BR from this season so not very imaginative on my part but I think it will work for several years to come and is subdued enough not to be terribly memorable. I love the mix and match possibilities and feel like these pieces are really me! Love the JCrew blouse and can see how that would look fab--I have some pieces in my closet that can work similarly.
@Liesbeth, Bonnie and Rachy: thank you!
@nuancedream: Thank you, fellow earth tone lover! I love it paired with dusty pink. Great idea.
@theCat: Thank you for the fab suggestions. I don’t have much in the peach/orange/lime but I can imagine they would add a lot of interest! Sweater does work well with black denim and my black pencil. I haven’t tried it with my velvet sloans but I think that would make a festive look as well. Pairing with cream seems like a slam dunk and something that I’m going to try.
@notsaf: Thank you for being frank--I really appreciate it. I can see a slight boxiness but the fit is pretty good. I could size down in the pants but in all honesty, my weight fluctuates and I’d rather have them comfortable at my winter weight. If I could move my arms in the 2, I would size down in the blazer because the 4 is a little wide around the middle when buttoned (but I’d probably never wear it that way.)
@suntiger: Thank you! Teal and purple are on my radar. I have a teal pullover that I think would work great with the pants for an office day.
@TG: Thank you! haha. I loved the green one on her too but I’m soaking up the brown after a long drought in retail.
@kkards: Thank you! Red works too.
@nemosmom: Thank you!!
@Runcarla: Thank you. I agree that this could span a few seasons. I always end up wearing pants anyway. May as well embrace it. It does have texture and shine. It’s such a fun pattern and I’m in love with the color. The sweater and dress tags have been cut--they make an instant and effortless capsule. I’d never be able to put something together like this on my own.
@Angie: Thank you. Yes, I’m milking the fashion opportunity. It’s too me to pass up! So glad to know you think they will serve for many years!
@Suz: Thank you! You are the mix and match queen. I’m so happy to be able to join you.
