Brought home from the mall today - weird or fun?

I picked up two long-enough-for-pants shirts lol. The one grey one I really like and is a keeper. It's a happy coincidence I was wearing my 'stormy' flyaway cardi and could pair it up right there!

The teal shirt, I'm not so sure . . . what do YOU think?

Oh, and a bonus shot of my homemade attempt at a sweater pin/clip/guard whatever you call them! I grabbed some cheap earrings at Claire's and cut off some extra chain from a necklace. Wah lah. But again, funky or just weird?

I like the cut of the teal shirt and it's a great color on you, but I don't love the black detailing. If I saw you walking down the street I wouldn't think it was weird though.

I am unsure on the black detailing on the teal, myself. part of me thinks it's interesting and actually flattering visually, but part of me thinks 'Sg.t Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!' It is a different material than the shirt - kind of like grosgrain ribbon I'd say. Maybe you can see it better here.

Any thoughts on the sweater pin? Goofy? Effective? Ironic?

PS: I really like the simple gray scoop tee with the embellishments, so it's staying

I like both tops. The teal is a great color on you and the detail is interesting but not overwhelming. I vote keep to both. Sorry I am not understanding the pin, it looks like two connected zippers to me.

Lisa, thanks - yes the pin is exactly that. I wanted a sweater guard and looking on ebay the ones I like are $30. Well I made this one up for $3. I could go low key and use pearl studs instead. These are too weird, huh?

I like the black detailing on the teal top, but am unsure about the fit of the top itself. It looks a bit loose around the shoulders, and bunches around your waist. Grey top is good to me. Where on the outfit is the sweater pin located? I'm confused

I like the teal top and think it is great with jeans. I love having effortless tops that have a little something that makes them different, but are still casual. I would keep.

I also like the sweater clip! I have a little sweater clip that came with a cardigan (it clips to either side of the cardigan--I am assuming that's what yours does as well?). I think the zippers work well for your style. (I'm not nearly as edgy, so my sweater clip is gold and white enameled bumblebees--a completely different look!)

The teal has puff sleeves and a rounded ruched bottom. Maybe I should be pulling it down straighter?

The pin is holding together the 'wings' of the sweater - more for demonstration of it's detail, I likely would not wear it with this combination of shirt, etc. It's right about at my belly button, though, for reference. I'm getting the feeling it's a "don't" lol.

MO, I like both tops and the clip. The teal is such a pretty color on you and the black detail pulls up the dark tones from your pants without needing a necklace or scarf. However, you need to feel comfortable with the style of the top to keep it.

I love the teal top. I really like the black ribbon detailing, makes it interesting.

I'm not a huge fan of the grey top, but that's mostly because of my personal bias against sequins - it certainly suits your style though.

The sweater clip is very ingenious!

Another love the teal - especially when you pull it down more. It seemed bunchy at the waist in the first couple of pictures, but that totally went away when you arranged it differently. I also like the sweater clip.

Mo, are you saying that you are using the clip at your waist? That's interesting--I wear mine at the top of my cardigan, near the neckline. I had actually never seen one before I bought the cardigan, and I just assumed that was where it was supposed to be worn. But now that I think about it, it could work in a lot of different ways, and could be a cute way to cinch in a waist just a little, without dealing with a belt.

The teal top is ok; it does look better pulled down, but it doesn't scream "Mo" to me.

I quite like the teal top - the colour looks great on you! It's cute solo, but I also think the detail would look great peeking out from a black cardi/jacket/vest. I also like the hardware and creativity you used for the sweater clip. (No comment on whether it works though, as I can't see it in action.)

They're all keepers. The black detailing on the first one is very cute and charming, but not over the top. The second one is soooo nice and looks great with that sweater, and I really love your inventiveness with the earrings and the chain. Looks super!!!
