Because of my sensitive skin, I am very hesitant to buy bronze jewelry unless I can be absolutely certain it's not going to give me a rash or turn my skin green.
No, but I really gravitate toward bronze-colored jewelry and hardware (buckles, purse hardware) as a softer and more neutral look--good with dark-medium dark hair color and goes with black, browns, and denim colors.
@unfrumped: I agree. I think I'll just wear the bronze on accessories so it doesn't come in direct contact with my skin. I can always wear gold jewelry. I have some 18k Peruvian gold jewelry that is more muted in color than the traditional bright gold.
I also have sensitive skin and can't wear copper or base metal jewelry. For some reason, though, pure brass doesn't react. Unfortunately I have no experience with bronze.
I don't have all bronze, but I have some tri color metal pieces that include bronze and I have quite a few brass pieces and I LOVE them. The pieces I have are very durable and they are treated so that they generally don't oxidize in any way.
One great thing about QVC is they will take returns on any item for 30 days for any reason....usually their quality is good enough so it shouldnt be a issue, but thats enough time to see if your skin will react badly to it. With the holiday season near, they usually extend returns till the end of January. I'd check that out too! Good luck....
