Bridesmaid Cardigan Help Needed

I need help deciding what style of cardigan to purchase. I will be in a wedding at the end of April and the bride has requested that the bridesmaids all have a beige cardigan to wear over their dresses for a few photos and for when it gets chilly in the evening.

However, the dress looks fairly different on me as I wear a size 16 and have a full figure, a large chest and some curves.

I don't want anything that hits weird at the stomach and know cardigans can actually help blend a tummy in. But I also don't want something too casual or where I get lost in the fabric/it makes me look larger than I am.

Any ideas would be helpful!

Of those three, I think the last one is the best. The others seem a bit casual. Would the bride be willing to consider a wrap?

gosh what a beautiful dress, seems a shame to cover it up with a cardigan...but if you have to have one, i'd go with your 2nd link the 12 Ami....would the bride consider a shawl instead?

I agree that most of them are too casual. Thank you both for your opinions. I think the first one is the most casual for sure.

I'm having such a hard time finding something that will look nice. I know one of the other bridesmaids is planning to wear an oversized cardigan, which I assume will be fairly casual too. I don't think she is willing to consider a shawl or wrap. I do know most of the pictures, ceremony, etc. will take place without it, but she did specifically ask us to have one.

I may keep looking - but if anyone knows of something a little nicer or that would be flattering with a floor length dress, I'd appreciate it.

Beige is an interesting choice.

The first two seem too casual but the last one might be fine, it's not exactly sharp looking but it does have some shaping and it's not too long.

A cropped look always works with a longer dress and this one seems very elegant.

I second Molly Mac: a cropped look would work well with the dress and would definitely not overwhelm you.

I like the last one best and you might try it just worn over your shoulders. Beige will be high contrast with the dress. Does David's Bridal have something? You might at least get ideas for shape.

Molly Mac has a good shape for you, and it would look good with the dress.

But... is the bride maybe going for a deliberately casual contrast that will make for some fun, relaxed pictures -- is that her personality? If so, and since one other bridesmaid is going for a slouchy, oversized look, I wouldn't worry to much about it looking "nice" or matching the dress in formality. I'd just look for a cardigan you like, that you can see wearing again. In fact, if the bride is going for a slouchy, casual vibe, a cardigan or wrap that is too "fancy" might throw off the look.

Did the bride give you any hints or pointers when she asked you to get the cardigans?

I like the third one you showed but prefer the Molly Mac. Liz has a great point though....bride oh those brides.

Liz, I think you are exactly correct. It is for some more casual photos. I've actually seen a few online that were really adorable. I just want to be sure that the best option.

Hmm well if it’s for some cozy casual
pictures I like the third one, the Nordstrom one. Under normal circumstances though I’d suggest molly macs one.
The Nordstrom one could come in handy in the future aswell though.

I agree with above comments about the first 2 being casual. Of the 3 choices I agree that the third is the best. I know brides can be real picky and if she definitely wants cardigan lands end has beige with wine stripe but not sure if it will fly with bride-https://www.landsend.com/produ.....886?sku_0=::B4H
There are also some cute "beige dress cardigans" that come in lace or cut outs that won't break the bank since being a bridesmaid is costly to start.
Either way- If it has buttons -I would buy some rhinestone or pearl buttons to sew on to make it fancy
I do like Molly Mac's option.
FYI- having worked at DB I can tell you that some brides liked the "pashmina- shawl" option when you put it over shoulders/arms but tie the ends under the arms in back- looks like a shrug depending on how tight you tie it.

Molly Mac found exactly what I had in mind. I would definitely pick that one if possible--a flattering shape and dressier than most cardigans.
