Friday when I biked to return a package, I was near the Beall's store, so I stopped in to see if I could find a floaty chiffon tank in person, before playing online roulette again.
I didn't (only one I liked was too big and bright, bright pink) but I did find this tank instead. It was in the Junior's department (strike one) and on the sale rack (strike two). Supposedly two shopping minefields for this 43 year old.
But, here's the thing . . . it's perfect for my needs.
I came to the realization that my warm weather needs are decidedly more casual than my temperate or cold weather clothing. The only true HOT times for me are when here in FL. Tahoe just doesn't warrant that kind of clothing but for 3 days a year. This environment is uber casual. I realize my hot weather things that don't get worn are my silk tanks and sequin stripe tank. The dressier items. All the other tanks get tons of rotation. But they are basic ribbed or cami layer types and pretty boring.
Enter the grommet, open sided tank. Casual, comfortable (so soft!) and a bit of hardware to amp it up. So I am happy with breaking the rules. And feeling more like 'me' when wearing it. I guess this falls in line with the idea of feeling stylish whether you are 'dressed up' or not. I want to be stylish while walking errands in the heat, too, not just dressed for out to dinner once a week.
