bras for AA/A cup? - YouLookFab Forum

i just read shiny's thread on undies, and remembered i REEAALLYY need bras. i have a grand total of 2 because NOTHING FITS ME!

trainer bras are depressing, and A cups still have gaps. i hate my chest, don't buy bras that make me look and feel better (because they don't exist?), and the vicious cycle continues.

what i need:
1. push up sleek waterbra to fill out dresses. ok, everything.
2. sleek nude padded t-shirt bra with elastic bands to avoid faster bumps and back lumps (something like spanx)
3. strapless sleek bra
4. cute lingerie that gives me the illusion of looking sexy

i prefer nude colored, smooth, sculpted cups, no bows/lace to add lumps underneath clothes. something with maximum function, minimal frill. perhaps i don't think my torso is worth all the fuss? maybe, as my undies collection is much more colorful and fun.

i have visible scars all over my torso, which not only exacerbates the esteem issue, but leaves me terrified and embarrassed to get a proper fitting as well.

what to do? i feel so sad, but have to start somewhere...does anyone else have an A/AA cup size? probably not *sigh* but if so, please share your bra-shopping tips.

Can't help with the tips but yes I am another in the A/AA size range.

Someone mentioned a site on a thread that specialised in this size, but I can't think what it is. Anyone remember?

Have you been to a professional bra fitting and are you sure that this is the size that you wear?

I also have an A-size, was in AA-sizes until college when I had a proper fitting. I know it can be scary; I felt like I shouldn't get a fitting because there wasn't much to *fit* but it really did help.

I've gone through a lot of self-hate about my chest in the past - but after getting some good bras and undies I felt a lot better and I was able to focus on the good things about having a smaller chest, and I was able to realize that who I am was not tied to my chest size.

I guess I want to encourage you in that there are other women out there who are going through the same thing, and we can help you in the right direction!

Hi cyan45 - I totally sympathize, I am also small busted. Here are a couple of sites I've read about:

http://www.bitasaviss.com (they have inserts of different sizes that fit in their bras so you can choose exactly what you want).

I have not tried either one of these sites, but if you do I'd love to hear your comments. Lately, I have been wearing the Playtex "Thank Goodness It Fits"bras that come in half cup sizes. They call the cup sizes "Nearly A", etc.

When I was younger (I'm 50), I was very uncomfortable being so small, but over the years I've decided that I'm not willing to have surgery to change it so I better just get used to it. I've come to realize being small busted can have its advantages. I still have "perky" breasts even at 50 and can wear lots of things other women have trouble with. If you're comfortable adding inserts, go for it!

Beautiful women come in all sizes, but beauty starts inside with the way you think about yourself. Try to treat yourself kindly and work on accepting the size you are. I know, not always easy, but totally worth it.

I have tiny breasts and Victoria Secret has always been good for me. For everyday wear I wear Body by Victoria bras. They are pretty ordinary looking (no frills) but super comfy and fit little breasts!

Cyan, I'm another small busted one who never thought it was worth going to have a fitting because there was nothing to fit. Like Donna, I bought Playtex "Thank Goodness It Fits"bras in "Nearly A". After reading YFL posts on the subject I got up my courage and went to Nordstroms for a proper fitting. Please Please get yourself to do it! The ladies are so helpful and I'm sure they have seen it all. Actually, they didn't look at me except to measure me with my bra on and to see how the bras they brought me to try fit.
I ended up with several comfortable bras, but the biggest shock was the sizing.
They found me bras that fit that were A and even B cups. I was wearing too large a band size.
Brands I bought are Vera Wang 22701; Wacoal Petite 75380; OnGossamer 3201 or maybe 16026 (This one is padded and a B cup. It actually gives me a bit of cleavage!) and a wonderful convertible strap bra that I wear strapless- Natori 774495 RN: 105951. They also told me to try Calvin Klein. All of these bras are smooth molded types that show no bumps under tee shirts. I hope you can find the styles because I bought these about a year ago, but if not, the clerks should be able to find something similar.
I learned that much of my breast tissue is under my arms, not front and center. You may find the same thing. If the band fits snuggly (but not too tight) you can gently move some of this tissue forward into the bra cup. I hope that makes sense.

As Donna said, there are advantages to being very small busted. I'm over 60 and still "perky" I do not use inserts but know I can be even bigger if need be without surgery.

On lingerie, look for necklines that are not wide. They can be low and narrow but are best when the top of the neckline is as close to the neck as possible. I love mandrian collars or something that draws the eye up to your face. Of course ruffles are great. You can also choose styles that focus on your legs or shoulders or what you want noticed and will take attention off your chest.

Hi Cyan, have you looked in the phone book or googled for a bra expert in your area? I have just discovered "The Bra Lady" in my town and I couldn't be happier with the bras I got after having her fit me. She has been in business for 30 yrs and I know that she has seen it all in that many years so I didn't feel very strange standing there so she could have a look at what I've got.
The bras fit great and even with an underwire are comfy for 8 hrs. I also bought little gel wedges to put under the breast when I think I want a bit of cleavage. For me at age 55 I don't think that is going to be often but at least I have them should a dress need a little more filling out.

Another "A"er......we're not that rare, are we??? Trust me, you are not alone. I have never been interested in bras- probably because I have nothing to fill them out with!!!!
