My petite, thin, yet curvy teenager has great luck at American Eagle and says she sees a lot of curvy girls at her high school in American Eagle.
Old Navy seems to be cut curvier than Gap but American Eagle is still a better fit for her.
She hasn't had any luck with the fit at Gap, Arapostale or Ambercrombie and now doesn't shop for jeans at those stores. The straighter hipped girls seem to favor those styles.
I like the Talbots' curvy jeans but have not experimented widely.
For me to experiment now, I would now look for stores or brands that label a curvy cut.
Sometimes a store will use words like 'Modern' or 'Lindsey' to label their different fits and you have to decode the words to know which is the curvy fit.
Anything that says 'boyfriend' is usually a poor fit.
Angie, Sveta, Bettycrocker, Aida, & Laura Rhubarb,
Thank-you for all your suggestions. Now I would be willing to experiment with different brands again. Thank-you.
