Branding Your Style

Which brands or shops are the ones that really hit your style on the head? It's the shop that you walk into, and it feels like home. You can *always* find something that you love in there- even if you don't buy it.

I don't even own anything from these brands, but for me it's Lucky Brand, Fossil and American Eagle Outfitters.

For me it's probably Michael by Michael Kors. I really like his styles and his clothes fit my body really well. I have several MK pieces.

I love the Point of View department at Nordstrom. I could spend thousands of dollars there.

I also really like Macy's INC brand.

The Urban-Anthro-Free People triad always has something to love for me. I don't find Anthropologie to be nearly as bohemian as some people do. I don't have a boho style at all and I could still do some damage in there if I had the budget. Free People is definitely more boho but I like their shoes and some of their edgier stuff. I do most of my shopping at Urban though. They are the most affordable and probably best represent my style.

Online, Modcloth is a big hit, though I have somehow managed to never order anything from there.

I haven't really found any one store that's all me - maybe because I haven't completely found my style yet. Modcloth and Anthro probably come closest, although I've never tried anything from either (we don't have an Anthro here and I haven't been able to talk myself into buying clothes online if I haven't tried on something similar first).

Definitely Club Monaco- I've shopped there ever since I "graduated" to grown-up clothing at about 13, and as long as they keep making gorgeous clothes, I won't stop. I can only remember a short period when I wasn't really feeling their stuff (right after they were bought by Ralph Lauren there were a few iffy seasons; I think the new design team had a slow start), but mainly it's right up my alley- feminine but edgy, lots of neutrals and great accessories. I suppose the patriot in me likes the brand itself, too I don't get to shop there as often anymore, but I LOVE the feeling of stepping into one whenever I'm at home or in the States.

I have such an eclectic style. For work wear, Michael Kors and BCBG are the ones. And Nanette Lepore and DVF wherever they happen to be found.
For casual? Martin + Osa and Gap hands down. Sometimes JCrew is a hit and sometimes it's a miss...

I always have luck in J Jill. I find the fit and style good for me. I would buy MORE but their color palate is often quite muted and I like bolder colors. LOFT is a hit or miss. I either can do some serious damage to my wallet in there or literally nothing works for me. And I buy quite a bit from Nordstrom....always-always-ALWAYS something for me at Nordies!

I really WANT to like M&O but I have serious fit issues with their clothes. But I like going into their stores and stealing their styling ideas.

When I head home to Vancouver, I enjoy Club Monaco and several of the "mall stores" that have merchandise I cannot get here in the States.

Club Monaco, Zara, Karen Milllen, Ann Fontaine, Whistles, Chanel, MNG, Mexx, LAMB, Marc Jacobs, Reiss, U2, G2000...and the list can go on and on and on.

Chewy - I'm with you - I love Lucky and Fossil a lot, even though I don't actually own any items from said places. I always enjoy looking at Anthropologie's website but find that the clothing doesn't actually fit me that well.

I like the way BCBG clothing fits me, but it's often out of my budget.

Wow...too many favorites. Ann Taylor of course. I can find 10 items on any given day...even though most must be ordered...L.A.M.B, Burberry always have something that is just* perfect *for me. They don't often make it home though.

I've been scratching my head and I'm unable to come up with a brand, if my budget was endless I would shop for Prada prints but it is far from endless and the shops or websites I buy from stock lots of different labels. Oooo.....I really am stumped *stamps feet*.

H&M, most definitely! I always walk away with a bag of clothes from there every time I visit it.

Other brands which I always love are Mango, AWear (an Irish brand aimed at college students), Oasis, Dorothy Perkins and Warehouse. If I lived in the States, I would probably never leave JCrew!

Calvin Klein dresses usually fit me so well that I can't resist them. I'm attracted to Citron prints in silk at Nordies and have one of their tops. I fall between a petite and regular at AT and several other places, so it's hit or miss. I like some of the knit tops Nygard does for my version of graphic tees but can only wear a petite and Dillards (only place I know of that carries this brand) doesn't carry much selection.

Gap has been my consistent go to store for a while. I just started getting into Martin and Osa (now that they're closing) and Ann Taylor Loft. I've become less of a fan of J Crew now that their prices are often absurd and that most of their shirts are drowning in ruffles, but I'm not ready to give them up entirely yet.

I would be able to answer better if I had a clue about my style! I also really enjoy the Boden catalogue, but have never bought anything. There is a brand called Basque from a department store in Australia which seems to fit me really well - I buy something each time I go home. H&M and Zara are pretty good too, although Zara doesn't seem to accommodate my hips very well.
