I haven't been posting much in several weeks, but did order a few things from NAS. I got a tan Brahmin shoulder bag, and I really like the color and texture, but the strap slips right off my shoulder. I have sloping shoulders, but I have quite a few shoulder and/or hobo bags that do NOT do this. It seems to be related to how slippery the fabric of the strap is, and it seems totally unpredictable until I actually try it. The Brahmin leather is in fact extremely slippery. I bought a bone colored hobo bag earlier this spring that had the same problem and I sort of fixed it by gluing a strip of drapery heading fabric to the inside of the strap, which looked ok and stopped the slippage, but the fabric started fraying at the edges so it was ultimately a failure. I now consider bags very carefully with this in mind.

I looked at the similar Brahmin in a satchel style (one of Angie's NAS top pics) but it's not right functionally for me, since I do not like carrying a bag in my hand or wearing it over my arm. The detachable shoulder strap is a bit too narrow for everyday use IMHO.

So, back goes the bag. As I said earlier, I really like it, but I hadn't quite fallen in love with it so I'm not sobbing.

Cross body bags obviously don't have this problem, and I do have some of them, but they are too small for me for everyday use.

Has anyone found a way to deal with bags designed to be worn on the shoulder, that do not stay on the shoulder? The only solution I know of is return it and move on to the next possibility.
