bra-sized swimwear

Any suggestion for a bra-sized one-piece swimsuit? Any suggestions on what brands and where to purchase and factors to consider when purchasing would be appreciated.

I didn't think I'd need a suit this year, but plans have changed, so I'm shopping late in the season. Trying not to dread this.

All my bra sized swimwear is Freya, the quality is really good. I would try having a look here:

I think Freya is pretty true to size, if the cut works with the shape of your breast. It's similar to bra fitting I guess. I know which cuts work best for me and stick to those (I don't have a one piece, I wear bikinis or tankinis).

Thanks Astrid. I had not been to that site before. I wonder if a bikini or tankini might be easier to fit. I'm thinking the one pieces assume you're the same size on top and bottom and avg. torso length.

Yes, that's the reason why a one piece usually doesn't work for me. I'm a pear and wear a 30 band size, but in most 30 (or even 32) sized one piece suits my lower half isn't sufficiently covered.

I've ordered from the UK version of the website before.

I like Freya a lot as well, but the bottoms always seem a bit too cheeky for me. I have really good luck with Cleo By Panache, and for some reason I seem to wear one cup size smaller in a swim top than I do in a bra (in that brand). I agree with Astrid that it's a good move to buy a brand/style that you know works for you in lingerie if possible.

I find tankinis MUCH easier to fit than one-pieces, myself. Right now I have two tankini tops in rotation, one from Bravissimo, one from Panache. Panache's regular bras don't fit me well but their swimsuits do.

I usually buy from either Amazon or Bravissimo. Bravissimo is in the UK and the exchange rate makes it pretty appealing right now, but it takes a while to arrive. Amazon's much faster & way better for returns.

Liz: I ordered a Freya suit today and will be on the alert for "cheeky-ness" when I get to try it on.

Liz and jacquez: I didn't realize that Panache made swimsuits. I am wearing one of their bras right now Thank you for the very helpful advice.

I agree that most of Freya bottoms are too cheeky, but one style works well for me (I have a big bum though, that might not be a problem for you). They call it "short brief". It's enough coverage and at the same time doesn't make me look twice as big as short style bottoms usually do. I stick to the styles that offer these bottoms in combination with a top that works.

MrsK - I hadn't looked at Athleta. I like several of those suits, but they are sold out in my size. The perils of shopping late in the season....

I have a couple of Freya tankinis and they work well for me. I know I have one bottom that covers a bit more. Haven't bought anything for a couple of years though.

I have bought Lands End one piece in the past, but the bottoms are too big for me--they kind of poof out in back. Not so great. But if I were more hourglass they'd be great.

MsMaven, I also used to buy from Land's End and had good luck, but they seem to have drastically reduced their selection of bra sized suits I do like the fit of their bottoms, and I don't have a large behind, but it's certainly in the upper middle of the pack lol.

Hi the likes of Elomi&Fantasie do separates so get swim bra.bottoms/tankini to fit your sizing and can update it as you like.
Herroom/brasGalore/Linda the bra lady and others do good swim wear USA side
But just type your size/style you like into search bar brings it all up.

I like Linda the Bra Lady. http://www.lindasonline.com I've bought bikini sets by Freya and by Fantasie. Both seem to be of comparable, good quality. I know that Fantasie sizing can be a bit different, but the suit fit true to size as the Fantasie bras that I was purchasing at the time--sorry, it's been a couple of years since I bought Fantasie products and I can't remember how, exactly, they differed in fit from my "regular" bras and such.

The only fit/style issue I'd caution you about is to get enough coverage for the activities you want to undertake. A lot of the bikini tops are balconette-style and that doesn't give a lot of insurance against popping out over the top if you are bouncing around. I was just so happy to get fitting bikini tops that weren't matronly, that I bought two balconette style tops and I wish I'd chosen a bit more coverage.
