BR white coat

I ordered this coat from BR on 40% off. It will fill a big wardrobe hole. Spring is so cold here and I get so tired of wearing my burgundy woolen coat for so long. What do you guys think of the fit? I am not totally sold on the fit and colour.

Exactly what Inge said - no question this is a great colour for you. I'm wondering if the fabric is not draping as well as you would like. This coat is a little different than my BR trench - fabric looks a little heavier?

Wow, you wear this color so well! I'm not sure on the fit but if I found a coat that fit me like this I'd keep it.

merwoman, this is not the trench coat. It is woolen and the fabric is off course heavier and stiffer than the trench coat. I decided to go for it as spring are usually very cold here and being a very cold person, I thought trench would not be warm enough for me. I don't know if that is the right decision.

I think the wool is a good choice if you would feel too cold in the trench. Being cold is no fun!

I just checked the link - and see the fabric content.
Well it is stunning - the problem that I see is that when you are out and about with this coat on, you are going to cause motor vehicle accidents as drivers swivel their heads to get another look at you. To offset that negative - you will get lots of use as this is perfect for wearing in fall and early winter as well.

I agree with Merwoman. I think this is a superb purchase, assuming you and your family have the insurance to cover the accident costs that will undoubtedly ensue whenever you wear it. It looks amazing on you, Mona! Re the fit - it is looking great, but have you done a sit test (for driving) and tried whatever you might layer under it?

Oh - and this is a by-the-way, I am firmly, very firmly in the camp of "a woman needs more than one wool coat in our climate." I felt a bit guilty when I first bought my wool pea coat in the fall....but WOW did I feel happy about having the two coats when winter dug in.

Mona it's a lovely coat. It's reading a little more cream on my screen than white and projecting a warm tone. Fit looks good and I think it might just need a steam? Very eye catching and a touch dramatic...I like it.

I would've killed for this coat earlier in the week. Wanted to look like 'spring' but needed winter warmth. Lucky you! It's fab all round in my book.

Suz, I have been spending winters with a puffer and a wool coat and always thought that another coat would be a waste but finally this year it dawned on me that I really really need another light coloured coat for early spring. I did the sit down test on it. ( I do the sit down test on every new item now).
Angie, if you think the fit is good then the tags are coming off tonight and yes, i am wearing three layers under it. a camisole, shirt and my denim jacket. It may sound crazy but I do wear these many layers all through winter and spring as our office is freezing cold.

I see what everyone else sees, and I see the attraction of getting out of your winter coat (I never want to see mine again!). I'm concerned the weather will turn hot soon and quickly (I believe you are in Southern Ontario) and you won't get to wear it as much as you hope this season. But it will last for years to come.

Yay!!! I am sure you won't regret it. The only time you won't love it is on the slushy days. Then, you'd better not bring it out. But in early winter (before the snow) and in early spring, it will be a total winner. Also for evenings if you are going out somewhere nice.

By the way, those layers sound perfectly reasonable to me. That's what I wear in winter, too. Well, at home I'll wear a sweater instead of the denim jacket, but you get the idea.

Yay! It's absolutely breathtaking on you Mona. It would be great for a fancy evening out in midwinter as well. Your winter is so long that you need a few coat choices.
