BR Straight White Jeans - Review

The search for the holy grail of white summer jeans began last year - unable to find the perfect jean I settled for a pair of white cropped pants from Joe Fresh.
New year - new search for jeans. Since January, I've been in and out of change rooms all over town. It hasn't been easy finding white jeans at this time of year, but I was determined. I've tried on 7FALM, Citizens for Humanity, Rag and Bones etc. My prime criticism is that either the fabric is too thin, and suitable only for a pre-pubescent body, or the fabrication is too "legging" like - and clings like a pair of pantyhose.
The BR straight white jean looked promising. I ordered my first pair on line - these were size 25, regular (for reference I am 24 waist, 33 1/2 hip) Very tight. But, the fabric was nice and thick. A week later the jeans were available in the store - I returned the 25s, and tried on the 27s (no 26 left). Too big. I ordered the 26, and they arrived last night. I'm very pleased with them. My one concern is the stretch factor, since I did feel them loosening up after I wore them around the house for a bit.

Thanks Mer. I think last summer was the first time I have not had a pair of white jeans and I missed them. They were always a go to item that could be dressed up or down. I will be watching for the update.

Thanks for trying out all these white jeans for us! I think I might be looking for a pair this S/S too, so I am really interested to see how these ones look on you. It sounds like they are more straight leg than skinny, which is what I'm looking for too.

Thanks, Mer - I just bought the JCrew matchsticks in white and still need to do a proper assessment at home (e.g., with nude underwear, etc, etc). If they don't end up working, I will try BR.

So happy these worked out for you. I tried them in store and was disappointed, perhaps they were a different style altogether but I believe they were the straight leg. The fabric seemed too thin to me, you could see the pocket linings and outline. Did you notice that?

Another thing to keep in mind - there is routinely 40% discount offered - the next one might be happening on Wed Feb 27. Love it when I can combine fashion and thrift together.

Carole - absolutely not. In fact even with black undies (sorry - perhaps TMI) I could not detect a panty line. Yes, I was wearing my specs....

Ooh - this is GREAT information. Thank you. I think my white Kut skinnies are going to be okay again this season, but I am intrigued by the idea of a straight leg, and this could fit the bill. Can't wait to see your pics.

Oh so exciting! I can't wait to see them on. I love white jeans and always try to buy in the spring too, because I think they stock better, heavier denim then. I've had exactly the same problem you suggested. I even had these BR jeans in my cart. Now that I know they are heavier weight, I'm going to wait for a promo and buy buy buy!

Oh I think yours are gorgeous Angie! But costly for me to import when I am not sure of sizing. I am hoping these ones from BR will do the trick.

mer, thanks for the review. on the hunt for a pair of less pricey jeans, as angie's ag stilts are in my shopping cart, but i just can't hit buy.
