BR cream straight leg jeans - your opinion?

I took a pic of these this morning and forgot to post! I did keep the grey version of these. I kind of wish these were longer -- these are the regulars, but I swear I think the cream ones are cut a little smaller & shorter than the grey ones. But they are not *too* short, which is a big victory for a pair of jeans for me.

The cream Rag & Bone sweater has already been returned. I could have worked with the sheerness, I think, but there was a pull and a small hole in one sleeve.

Not sure about the jeans with the high contrast shoes, but was trying on all the new stuff at once.

What do you think? Keep the jeans?

How do you feel about sizing up on the jeans, Janet? These look great too though. Excellent with the new sneaks. Not too short at all. Try your new T-neck with it too.

No, not too short, but they seem to be pulling a little across the front? I'm wanting them to fit the same above the knee as they do below, because to my eye the below-the-knee fit is perfection.

April, no jeans ever fit me above the knee the way they do below! Boyfriend cuts might. This is the curse of the thighs. My weight is up a little right now so the issue may be a little exacerbated. But most jeans do that little pull at the low hip on me.

Angie, I wondered about sizing up. Might be too late now, I'll have to check online. Of course, getting back on track with my eating and exercise should help ease up that fit a little too! They grey ones do ease up as I wear them.

Janet, I have the exact same issue. My BR cream jeans do not fit me the same way that Angie's fit her, and sizing up wouldn't have changed that. My thighs are just fuller -- no way around it. Gee, I wish I had some of that in the bust area so I could "fill out" a cutaway or collarless jacket the way I "fill out" a pair of jeans!

I think the jeans look fab. If they feel smaller than the grey ones, it may be that you are just more sensitive to a close fit in a lighter color. I know that's the case with me. I ended up buying a size larger in my white jeans for that reason--so it might be worth a try. If the next size is not available to compare or if it's just too much bother, I'd keep these, especially knowing that they'll ease with wear and that you are at the high end of your weight range for the year.

Janet, wear them round the house a little first. They do ease up a little. They might be just how you want them to fit after half a day.

They fit fine, but you might try sizing up for comparison. They're not too short, but are they available in long or tall?

Janet, also -- Angie is right. This photo was taken before mine eased up. They don't "bag out" but they do...hmmm...breathe? Something. They stretch just enough so that they feel roomier than they look. And they are so, SO comfortable.

I think they look great. And I like them with the high-contrast footwear. (But I am on Team High Contrast, FWIW.)

I ordered those jeans in my regular size and a size up. My regular size fit something like yours. Wearing them they did not ease up enough to notice. I kept the larger size and have been happy with them.

You might try a size up. It just depends on how you want them to fit.

Well, the next size up was available online, although not quite as great a price as the ones I got, so I ordered them to see how they work too. I am curious to see how those fit. I'll update when they come!

I can see why you kept the grey without hesitation. I am just wondering about the cream shade with your wardrobe and your colouring. I can't remember if you have white ones? If I buy cream I never end up wearing them even though I think they should be useful. Pure white works every time. I sound like a broken record but I have similar colouring and similar colour palette in my wardrobe to you. You also remind me of Emmanuelle Alt and she always wears white jeans to great effect.

I also have same fit issues as you do too minus the long legs (lucky you). Where are the jeans for the athletic legs??

Mia, excellent questions! I do have bright optic white Paige jeans, and they have been growing on me since I bought them a year or so ago. They actually are cut very similarly to these, now that I think about it.

I thought a softer, warmer shade might be a nice change of pace, especially for winter. I do have some patterned tops and scarves with cream in them, too. I tend to limit myself to dark bottoms, and I was trying to broaden my horizons.

Janet I like them on you and am also looking forward to the larger size as comparison. But I think these look great too. And not too snug, but more fitted. These jeans have what I would call a cigarette leg fit. I especially like the way you've styled them here with a tonal look. Too bad the top didn't work. I'd repeat this look again, I want to copy it myself. The black sneaks are perfect, add a black moto and you have a great early Spring outfit. I've been seeing lots of b&w looks on the Barneys site.

I think they should work after you wear them for a while. At first I thought my size is too tight but they loosened up enough for "fluid" fit.
As for he length - I think mine are shorter on tall me and I still wear them so you should be fine
See pictures - #1 is my size right out of the box, #2 the same size on the second wear - I think they relaxed quite a bit without stretching out .

That's how mine fit when I first got them, too. I am very partial to this fit, but I'm getting in line with everyone to see the larger size.

I like the jeans as is, once they bag out they may be too big if you size up. The dark shoes work for me because they bookend your dark hair with the light outfit.

I think they look great! Sleek, but not tight. The amount of scrunch you're showing is what I seek, but there is always more on my short legs.

I think they look great on you and am curious to see what they look like after a bit of wear. I tried them but they fit just a bit tighter than that, and the rise was too low for me, so I sent them back. I probably needed to size up.

I ordered 2 sizes and ended up keeping the smaller pair. Mine fit more loosely in the leg but tighter across the tummy. I think I should probably wear them with longer tops!

I too would like to see a comparison but I don't think that this pair looks too small on you.

I am sorry to disagree with those, who are suggesting a size up. That is very flattering for other body types, but not on pears like us. They really add width and we are on the figure flattery department. I vote keep this size.

I also remember the ones you got at Shoptoberfest, didn't you feel that the waist needed alteration afterwards? Nah, denim is supposed to fit snug.

Honestly, I have ambivalent feelings about these jeans after trying them in a couple of sizes in BR recently. They never felt like a slam dunk on my IT shape, even though I rarely have trouble fitting into a pair of jeans. For what it's worth, I didn't think sizing up improved the overall look. If you are good with the way they look, then keep; in my case, I returned them to the rack.
