Yep I wear Athleta tops as normal casual wear all summer too :/
I can't stand the feeling of being braless- it totally creeps me out! Always has as long as I can remember, even when I lived alone. I do have a couple of Bali (I think) bralettes I also sleep in, maybe they're better?
It makes sense to me. A lot of athletic wear is using recycled poly, and many companies tout using recovered ocean plastic and such. The toxins don’t disappear when the plastics get converted into textiles… I’ve always wondered about this, glad someone is gathering data! Another good argument for sticking to natural fibers when possible.
This was the talk of the gym locker room today . We were all thankful Lululemon didn’t make the list …..yet . I bet this is the tip of the iceberg though . Next - underwear / bras .
Yep, I'm worrying about other clothes too! Thing is, even if we spend thousands to replace everything with natural fibers and donate all the poly, it's still there :/
It’s so demoralizing. In the last couple of years, we have changed our furniture, utensils, cookware, flooring, canned goods, skincare all based on new findings.
Yikes, I’m doomed! Add up all the hours of running and workouts and everything else and I have spent years in my sports bras…from Brooks and Athleta and all the above…..
Runs With Scissors, that is a very interesting, helpful discussion with a lot of real data, mostly on the lack of any real study behind the claims and warnings. Thank you for posting!
