For me they are the slimmer fits - more like relaxed skinnies. My KUTS - of which I have THREE pairs in white are faves, and I wear them all the time throughout the year. (I do not have them in blue). And my blue AG Nikkis in which I sized up to create a baggier look, are actually roomier than the KUTS. I also love my Boden BF's, which are a little slimmer on the legs.

I am off my TR Camerons at the moment because they are very baggy. And my slouchy Gap Sexy BF's were hacked to become shorts at the beginning of the year.

Anyway, there is no right and wrong. It's merely a preference - and your preferences can change (like mine did). And my preference is for less slouchy BF's this year. That said, my TR Camerons are LONG, and I will probably wear them a lot again in Winter.

Over to you. Are you preferring more or less slouch with BF's these days?

I never bought into the really baggy look. I like skinnys that are one size up. This seems to work best for me.

I only have one kind, the KUTS in blue and white. I wear the whites long to work and the blues rolled at home. I have some Big Star jeans that I love but I consider them slim straights rather than BFs.

I have always preferred a slimmer fit in my BFs, it took me forever for an early trend adopter to get on the BF bandwagon in the first place. Both pairs of my TR Briannas are sized down for a slimmer fit. My AG Nikkis are a size up and I do regret that a little, but I hope that few runs through a hot dryer will take care of the issue.

I really like my JJill slim BF.
my Kut white ones are a bit looser but I think that's good for white.
None approach skinny , I think- just that a relaxed but not overwhelming cut seems to be the happy place.
I also like the fabric of the JJ - more cottony. Of course is also more casual " wash".
I'm not sure what style I should focus on now for a dressier dark wash
jean -- that would not be rolled at all. I think " straight" or fluid Bootcut. A lot of bootcuts are too fitted at the knee for what I want.

I think the slimmer fit is better. My only pair is from H&M and have bagged out. Next time, I'll look for a better quality and get some slimmer dark wash boyfriends.

I am over the baggy look. I still wear my GAP sexy BF's sometimes but got one pair from ON last year and that is definitely my favorite because of the slimmer fit.

I like them a little slimmer too. Funny story : picked up a pair at the Gap in my "usual" size that were on sale, because I liked the particular colour and the amount of distressing. Thought they were the Sexy BF that I usually buy, and was marvelling at how they had quickly become my new favourite pair of jeans. A few weeks later, I realized that they were actually Straight Legs that had been unhemmed and rolled . So - this has become my new thing - size bigger in Straight legs and I'm set to go ! That said, I'd like to treat myself to a premium brand soon, to get a more precise fit (if that makes sense for BF's) and a better Japanese denim. I hate trying on jeans though - right up there with swimsuits.

I remain on team slouch, a style preference that has not changed since my early 20s. My other preferred silhouette is skinnies, so I feel I get my fitted looks there.

Current faves are my R&B sweatpants jeans.

I love my white Kut slim boyfriends! All other "boyfriends" are sized up skinnies, so I like mine slim. I found a pair of dark wash Hudson's that I sized up from 27 to 29 and need a belt to hold them up, but they are big favorites. Same with some skinny jeans from H&M last fall in dark burgundy and in dark olive that I bought in a size 12. I had planned to chop them off for shorts but never did.

It is hard for me to say now. I have purged both my KUT BFs (white and faded blue) because they were too baggy for my comfort but I lost some weight and it made them too baggy to the point when I could not wear them anymore.
I think I prefer slimmer BF jeans now with not too much slouch in the rear. I have a single pair now which is actually straight leg Paige jeans which became too lose and therefore moved into BF category.

How funny that you should bring this up on the day that I put on my boyfriend jeans and decided that for me they are a tad too baggy around my hips and bottom. I'm going to do a proper shape assessment and press my sewing machine into action.

My True Religions are not quite as baggy as yours, Angie (since I think we have the same size and I have a slightly bigger frame). But they are still very loose fitting.

And, opposite to you, I tend to wear them more in the warmer months!

It's partly their all-cotton fabrication, which feels cooler than most other jeans despite being heavier to the hand. And it's partly that I love to wear them rolled— the taper feels just right to me for wearing with sandals or my Okalas, and I like the juxtaposition of the tomboy back pockets and a feminine shoe.

It's typically too hot to wear jeans at all in summer for me -- but this summer was a big exception. And my Camerons got a lot of love this year.

I will still wear them in winter (since I can also wear full length) -- or rather, I will wear them in fall, when I can still wear with booties.

But I know that I will prefer my slimmer boyfriends (Rag and Bone Dre) and my slouchy skinnies (distressed Banana Republic Heritage). This has been a pattern for two years running and I don't see it stopping any time soon!

If I had to choose which ones to grab in a house fire, or if I could only have one BF, I'd take a slimmer BF.

Luckily, a girl can have more than one!

My fave bf is still my first one. Gap SBFs in a medium blue, undistressed wash, pretty slouchy with a dropped crotch, cropped length. The fabric is great -lightweight enough for summer and not very stretchy, and super comfy. The wash is versatile and can be dressed up or down. Plus I like the look of baggy BFs tucked in boots so they're good in winter too!

I also have full length 100% cotton SBFs (same size as my favorites but not as slouchy, and lighter/distressed so not as versatile), cropped ripped current/Elliot's (summer only, also distressed and very casual), AG Nikki's (too warm for summer, also a bit too stretchy for my taste and oddly slightly itchy), and I just bought some darker blue KUTs which I like a lot but I find them too warm for summer. I haven't worn the KUTs yet so who knows, I could still end up loving them most.

Most brands I size down BF's and up in skinnies, unless the legs are too skinny, and then I don't get them at all. I only like legs just loose enough get on and off really easy, and nothing baggy at all. My problem is sometimes getting the right length if I want some that I do not have to roll. Then I find petites too short, and some regulars are too long.

I never get too much slouch with my BFs and I size them one size up so I can't really judge how much slouch I like, I just get what I get. My favorites are the Kut Catherines. I have two pairs in denim and one in white.

I'd say it depends on who else is playing. I love both my slimmer cut AG crops & R&B Dre's, they really speak to the more tailored side of my style. But I also love my slouchier Gap destressed jeans, and a pair of army green destressed twill pants that I have. For me, the destressing and the looser fit seem to so together.

Yes, I agree with you Angie. The more "relaxed" straight leg is my idea of "boyfriend". I also love my KUT Catherine's and a Gap pair. For me it was about the rolling up rather than the slouchiness.

I have sized down in my BF jeans...preferring a slimmer, slouchy silhouette. Not into too saggy, baggy or oversized for myself....I'm petite and don't carry the look well.

I only have one pair, light blue KUT Catherine's (which I am wearing right now). I can control their slouchiness depending on whether or not I wear a belt, but generally I wear a belt to make them less slouchy.

I am on team less slouchy as I've never been a crotch drop wearer. I rotate my favorites and probably could not pick if I had to run out of the house in a fire (thanks Suz - but I'd grab the lot of them). For white it's Gap Always Skinny sized up (have crop, long and regular lengths), for blue I have my J Crew Matchsticks sized up in black and light distressed blue and darker non-distressed blue. I have my DIY patched jeans which will be worn a ton this fall and winter and my 7FAMK Josefina BFs (blue cropped, black full length). For lightweight, softness and best price point it's my H&M BFs.
I don't like the Kuts on me. I tried the Rag & Bone, but for the price they were not a better look on me than the Matchsticks.
I also added the Cookie Johnson Glory pair recently that are really soft, but not full length so I'll be retiring them until spring as soon as I can't bear my ankles due to cold.

Wow. Fascinating. Lots of people feeling what I'm feeling at the moment. I am high fiving all of you. Last year and the year before, I was ALL over mega slouchies. Now I am into baggy without the slouch (bottoms I mean - tops are another story) - although I love my dressy harem pants.

Suz, I think yoga may have made me even straighter. I don't fill out those TR Cameron jeans the way I used to. But I will love them again in Winter I'm sure. xo

I like my new white Kut Catherines a lot. I'd like to get a pair in blue that can be worn full length. I also love my skinny boyfriend jeans by Silver. They are probably more of a slouchy skinny jean, though--they don't really have the boyfriend vibe to me. My Fidelity boyfriend jeans are so fun and comfy, but they are very baggy, and I don't think they look that great on me; I think I prefer a slimmer boyfriend fit. Still, I appreciate them for the true boyfriend feel, and I love the long length for colder weather.

I never tried that trend but had a few slouchy pants in the past, because I lost weight and kept using them. I wonder if the fit would be more "clean" if I try an actual boyfriend pair.

Like Alaskagirl, I like the distinct look of either really slouchy, or quite skinny. I have an 'in the middle' pair, which I like, but to me it feels more like a comfortable and classic support act to an outfit, not adding particular interest itself (unless it's an interesting color and finish). Although sometimes the proportions are quite useful because of that.

I have not been a big fan of baggy boyfriend jeans. I bought one pair of Joe's this summer, two sizes small so they would fit in the bum and low waist. Basically I think I am in the straight not skin tight leg camp.

But if you like straights, are you rolling up the hems still? I have been doing that this summer but I think I'll be done with it by the time bootie season rolls in in a few weeks.

I'm with you, Angie! I prefer slimmer boyfriends, and my favorites are my Paige Jimmy Jimmy jeans. I have two pairs of blue ones and one pair of white. I also have white Kut Catherines that I like a lot, and my second favorite blue ones are my AG Nikkis. I never did wear really droopy slouchy ones, because they didn't look right on me.

I think I have pitched by BF to the curb. I just realized I haven't worn them in an entire year so clearly we are on the outs. I have the ON ones you recommended last year. I wore them like a mad fiend for about 8 months but the love affair has died. I think I feel sloppy in them.

Yep, me too Angie. My fave pair right now are my Ralph Lauren slim boyfriends in vintage wash. They work great both full length and rolled thanks to the slimmer legs and I adore the extra soft cotton fabric.

I purged my Gap sexy BF's and am off my Cameron's these days but not because of the fit. I'm liking the cleaner without the back pocket flaps right now.
