Boyfriends- I think these work?

A totally new silhouette for me - latecomer as usual and very fashion forward where I live! These are Joe Fresh from JCP. I didn't wear a belt today or I would be wearing one and this is the top I wore out of the house. They are loose but don't seem to gape at the waist. Would they work with my Splendid cross ankle strap wedge sandals? They probably need one more roll with these boots.
What do you think? Is the rinse too distressed for a 50+? Or am I way out there thinking they work? Thanks!

They don't seem wildly distressed to me. Try them on with other things you love and see what you think? The ankle strap wedges sound interesting.

They don't look very distressed at all. I think that they fit too, Pil. I say take them home, try them a few ways and with your shoes and then decide.

Angie, I'll start another thread on the jacket. Most of the pieces I wore in Boston were either Angie picks or lemming pieces You have no idea what a thrill it was to meet you!

I like them. I think the rinse is good. I like dark wash jeans for more smart casual and winter stuff, but the BF look really seems to call for a slightly worn effect, especially for warm weather and rolling-- looks more " nonchalant" I think.
I'd love to see them with a summery shoe. Do you have some loafers or tennies you could try to get some ideas ?

J- great job on these jeans! The wash and fit are quite similar to my favorites - Matchsticks sized up. You definitely need a belt. Are we sandal twins? I have the beige/pink ones that Cocolion got last year too. Love them. I'd wear them with these.
