Boyfriend jeans: yay or nay?

I have a pair of boyfriend jeans I got a few years ago, which I wear when puttering around the house (because they are so loose and comfy).

I wanted to try something with rolled-up hem look that's been sported for the last year--or is this trend already on its way out?

I chose a romantic blouse to contrast the ultra-casual boyfriend jeans. I rolled them up to mid-calf in hopes that they didn't chop my legs visually too much.

What do you think? If anything, it's comfortable!

I think they look cute on you. I find that full length jeans are more flattering (more elongating to the leg), but I think that you could pull these off : ) I might consider a more structured top though, maybe with a tighter blouse or a blazer?

This has been debated before. I think Angie remains unconvinced but there were a few of us who liked the look (at least I did and Antje did). I have never tried it myself, however, because I think it looks best with some sort of heel unless you're already tall.

Antje had posted a picture of this young lady and I think she looks terrific, but she is also a stringbean and has on some very deadly heels:

My conclusion is that it can work and look great, but it's not an easy look to pull off and far from flop proof.

I don't like boyfriend jeans on me.. but on you the look good, specially because you put it together with a feminine blouse..

Yay. I think they look good on you. You look comfortable and fashion forward and I think it is great that you are trying this.
My eye is adjusting to the look over the year. For main stream they don't seem as baggy, torn up, low slung, bagged out in the butt as if your boyfriend just took them off, like they seemed on the models who first strutted them.

AlexSue -- Hm, structured top, that would make sense (given the looseness of the bottoms. Earlier this morning I was wearing the top with full-length bootcut jeans, but then I saw my boyfriend jeans and thought I would play around.

I like the second outfit CC! The shoes are an instant improvement and you look so chic without looking like you're trying too hard. Very cute!

I also prefer the second look, cc. You look sweet :0) I am consistent in my thought process! Here's why:

The pants look like clams so it's fine (as do the pants on the gal in the sartorialist). The heels raise the hemline of the jeans so that works too. Hope there is method to my madness.

CCeile I really like the banded top you are wearing in the first pic, bit agree the second outfit works better with the jeans. The sandals in the 2nd pic are so cute too!! Are they as comfy as they look??

Ah, the platform sandals. They're Kenneth Cole, with Silver Technology (I guess that's the Kenneth Cole's Nike Air equivalent). They are surprisingly comfortable for a 4" heel (3/4" platform) -- particularly since I don't usually wear heels above 2 or 2.5". I haven't done any serious walking in them, but have worn them to parties, out to brunch/dinner, things like that where you do some walking/standing and some sitting.

I guess Kenneth Cole is doing something right with making comfortable wedge sandals, seeing that Angie recommended the Kenneth Cole Reaction Cedar City sandals in her blog!

Oh! The second look is so nice. Just for fun the other day, I tried on some of my hubby's jeans to see what that would look like. Eww! It wasn't pretty. I'm jealous that you can make it work. I like the look.
